The ATP Monte Carlo Masters is set to take place in Monaco this week, and all the star tennis players are showing out for one of their favourite events of the season.

The Monaco Masters is by far one of the classiest tournaments on the tour, taking place on beautiful red clay that always makes it competitive for the players in order to try and get the result.

There are many reasons why the field is so stacked in 2023, and we are going to be treated to an all-star line-up, led by Novak Djokovic and the return of Rafael Nadal.

These red clay courts have been a historical part of the ATP Tour.

With it being a high-class tournament with several top players having to go through the qualifying rounds, players will cherish every moment and try to make a deep run in the Monaco sun.

The conditions will be a bit tougher with the warm weather, so expect those players with games’ whose ball bounces higher to have a significant advantage.

When looking at the field, Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal come to mind particularly.

This one will be great, so don’t miss the action of every single match on’s sportsbook !

Players to Watch For

Rafael Nadal - Finally his Time

The Spanish legend, Rafael Nadal is set to return on the clay courts of Monaco after having an injury layoff that lasted practically 90% of the hard-court season.

Having missed Sunshine double masters, Nadal needs to get back into the swing of things to return to the top of his ranking’s potential.

Nadal loves these courts, and he is the holder of the most wins at Monaco, making every opponent literally play to his power.

Everytime Nadal has taken the court in Monte Carlo, the crowd has responded with delight, and they have a great affinity with some of his legendary performances in the tournament.

Nadal picked no better time to return to the game of tennis than the clay season, and he will surely be amped up due to several factors including his favourite surface being back on the tour.

Novak Djokovic - World #1 Returns

After Carlos Alcaraz was unable to make a defence of his ATP Miami title this past week, Novak Djokovic has retained the world #1 ranking and his rightful place on the throne of tennis.

Novak returns to the red clay after once again being absent for the Sunshine double, two events where he usually excels at in a massive way.

There is no way that the world would think Novak would miss these on purpose, but there has been prior drama to this situation beforehand.

Novak now shifts his focus to the red clay, and how well he can do on this surface is significantly up to his health.

If he is able to slide all over the court and produce winners like he has shown in the past, this will be a great season for Novak to find himself and revitalize his game.

There will be many opportunities, and he will look for the first strike in Monaco.

Stefanos Tsitsipas - Defending Champion on the Clay

The one-handed backhand from Stefanos Tsitsipas has been struggling as of recent, and his return to the clay should do him wonders.

After injuring his shoulder and nursing some really shaky results over the past month or so, Stefanos looks to return to a place where he calls home.

Stefanos won this tournament last year and was a large part of the reason for his rise up the rankings during the clay season.

Stefanos is most comfortable on the clay and he will be super happy to find out he is back on his terms.
