F1 Tips and Predictions: 2022 Austrian Grand Prix

The Red Bull Ring is set to play host to the next leg of the Formula 1 season as Max Verstappen looks to extend his lead in the Driver Championship.

It’s been a strong weekend for the ‘home team’ too with Verstappen edging out Leclerc in Qualifying before totally controlling the Sprint Race to maintain pole position.

It was a little more mixed for teammate Checo Perez who was dumped from Q3 after the session for exceeding track limits during Q2 but his fortunes changed through the Sprint Race where he made up a number of positions to start from P4.

In terms of race pace there’s unlikely to be a lot between the Ferrari’s and the Red Bull’s so it’s fair to expect one of the most competitive races of the year.

Verstappen remains a firm and deserved favourite at $1.50 with Leclerc ($3.70) considered the only serious threat.

With a big mix-up in the midfield there’s a solid opportunity to get involved and Daniel Ricciardo has closed the gap on teammare Lando Norris in recent weeks.

For that reason he looks a cracking bet to finish in the points at $1.74 from P12.

The other obvious stand out is Ocon ti win Group 3, he has to beat home Magnussen, Schumacher and Alonso but at $1.72 he really should be able to do this comfortably.

Lastly, the winning margin to be under 5 seconds is a bit more exotic but pays $2.75 for those that want to search a little wider.
