Elite Sports Betting Tips: April 1
English Premier League – Tottenham vs Newcastle - 1x2 Newcastle @ 6.40
Jarrod
Let's do our best to ignore Newcastle's form just before the International Break, shall we?
A brief hiatus saw some of Newcastle's key players get back into form at International level, with Miguel Almirón and Chris Wood both scoring and Bruno Guimarães registering an assist for their respective countries.
Newcastle were the team to beat before those two losses, winning three on the bounce and truly loving life under Eddie Howe.
Yes, we're backing a huge underdog here. Why not? 2 units
Bundesliga - Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig - 1x2 & Both Teams to Score - Dortmund & Yes @ 3.75
Caelum
A fixture that has become must-watch every Bundesliga season, Dortmund and Leipzig are often good value when they face off.
Top four regulars and often the only teams to give Bayern a real challenge, this season has been like any other for the two German giants.
The hosts sit in 2nd with a 12 point gap on Leipzig, who have recovered from an early-season scare to be genuine Champions League contenders.
Both sides haven't lost since early February in the league and will be heading into this one with different motivations.
For Dortmund, a win will keep them in touch with Bayern at the top of the table as they currently sit six points behind.
Leipzig will need a win for cement a spot in the Champions League positions, with Hoffenheim and Freiburg breathing down their necks.
Recent fixtures between these sides give a good indication of the way these sides like to play; attacking.
Their last four matches have all seen goals at both ends of the field, with Dortmund coming out victorious in three of those four encounters.
At home, in front of a typically raucous and energetic Dortmund crowd, we'll back them to get the job done in the same manner they usually do.
And with Erling Haaland back in scoring form for his country, they could be hard to stop if he translates that into his club football now. 1 unit
NBA - Toronto Raptors vs Orlando Magic - Handicap (incl. Overtime) Toronto Raptors -9.5 @1.88
Jonah
We're at the point in the NBA season where many teams are attempting to push as hard as possible to gain home court advantage for the playoffs or to ensure they have a chance at them via a play-in spot.
The remaining teams are the ones playing for a high draft pick, resting good players and allowing young players to develop through their mistakes on the court.
Toronto vs. Orlando is a meeting of two of these teams.
The Raptors are a team on fire right now; they're 8-2 in their last 10 matches (including four on the trot), they're essentially injury free and they're sitting just above the dreaded play-in tournament in 6th place in the East.
The Magic on the other hand, are bottom of the NBA for the season and have won just three of their past 10 games.
They'll miss their top draft pick in Jalen Suggs in this match, with their best player for the season Wendell Carter also questionable (we think the Magic will give Carter the night off). Two teams with entirely different goals, then.
The Raptors visit the Orlando here to solidify their playoff position (they're even statistically better on the road than at home this season) and will face a team that could care less if they win or lose at this point.
Although the previous two fixtures between the two this season have been close, we see a different result this time. 1 units
A-League - Sydney FC vs Western Sydney Wanderers - Asian Total Under 2.5 goals @ 1.90
Nick
A win for either side can re-ignite a push into the top 6, but with both teams in poor form its hard to see who might be able to knick this.
Sydney will be favourites, but look like they will be without playmaker Milos Ninkovic with injury, and might have an eye on a busy schedule coming up which includes their Asian Champions League campaign.
Like most other bitter local derbies, these clashes don’t typically dish up goals; seven of the last eight meetings between these teams have been under 2.5 goals. Another 'unders' is definitely the value bet here. 1.5 units
English Premier League – Wolves Vs Aston Villa - 1x2 Wolves @ 2.95
Dom
Villa go into this Midland derby as the slight favourites, but based on what I'm not sure.
Both teams haven't been in sparkling form of late, but Wolves defeat to Leeds last time out was nothing short of a freak result, with a Jimenez sending off completely changing the complexion of a game they were in complete control of.
They still have European aspirations while Villa really have nothing to play for, with them too far off the European spots but also safe from relegation.
Also factoring in that only Norwich have lost more games away from home this season than Villa (9) makes a dabble on Wolves at these odds worth a shout. 1 unit
English Championship – Cardiff City v Swansea City - 1x2 Cardiff @ 2.3
CBod
The reverse fixture in one of Britons fieriest derbies finished 3-0 to Swansea, which will not have gone down well in the Welsh capital; revenge is on the cards.
The pressure is off both teams with both playing Championship football next year too.
But as the new Cardiff coach, Steve Morison will be wanting to keep the momentum they’re building in last 4 matches (W3, D1) into the 22/23 season.
I tipped against Swansea a couple of weeks ago because they can’t seem to score away from home.
Since that tip they have gone on to win at Peterborough, putting 3 past them, but I will treat this as an outlier with The Posh having the leagues worst defensive record (76 goals, 2 per game).
But Swansea were back to their non-threatening ways in their 0-0 on the 19th Vs Birmingham. 1.5 units
Counter Strike ESL Pro League - Astralis vs Navi - Correct Score: Astralis 2:1 @ 4.4
Alex
This matchup will be an interesting one to watch with both sides showing decent form these past few matches.
I see this match as a 50/50 between these two teams, with a high chance of going to a 3rd map.
The last time these teams faced off was back in late January in a BO1 with it ending in an Astralis victory in overtime.
While this may be a risky bet, a safer option could be the total maps over 2.5 market @ 1.95. However, I'll be taking the Danes to win 2:1. 2 unit
ODI Cricket - Pakistan vs Australia - Under 44.5 total fours for the match @1.92
Blake
We're getting towards the back end of Australia's historic tour of Pakistan with the final One Day International played this weekend before the T20 matches start.
We come off the back of some high scoring matches in the first two and given the type of wickets and the size of ground they are working with in Lahore, this isn't totally unexpected.
That said, both teams start on zero before the first ball is bowled tomorrow night and the over/under lines for both fours and sixes hit during the match look incredibly high.
It's almost a pin the tail on the donkey type decision as whether we take on the under 44.5 fours or the under 11.5 sixes.
We're settling on the under 44.5 fours in the hopes that one of the two sides puts in a less than stellar performance and scores under 250-260 runs for their innings. Preferably, whoever bats first. 1 unit
AFL - Carlton vs Hawthorn - Winner Carlton @ 1.60
Matt
Both teams come into this round 3 encounter undefeated with 2 wins from 2, but in my opinion it is Carlton who have the much better form line, and the much stronger squad, and while the 1.60 is short, I think they should be much shorter against a Hawthorn outfit I would say have over-performed in their opening 2 matches so far.
Carlton come into this on the back of 2 mighty impressive wins against last years grand finalists and the previous years premiers.
The squad they have built looks mighty impressive, and the way they have come together suggests they could be building towards a big year.
Hawthorn meanwhile pulled of the shock of the round last weekend beating Port at Adelaide Oval by 64 points.
While that result was mighty impressive, on paper it looks like a bit of an anomaly with Port dominating most of the key stats other than on the scoreboard.
Carlton won't make the same mistakes Port win, and I am backing them to win this match comfortably. 2 units
English Premier League – Crystal Palace vs Arsenal - 1x2 & Both Teams to Score Arsenal & Yes @ 4.30
Cesar
Here we go!
Arsenal face Crystal Palace this weekend in what is set to be one of the best matches being played after the international break!
Arsenal have had an incredible transformation from what we saw at the start of the season.
There is no doubt that the current Arsenal is one of the best teams in the premier league right now and considering the amount of youngsters in their squad, it is only expected for them to become even better as they continue playing some exciting and beautiful football.
Arteta ball has to be respected and Crystal Palace will most likely aim at counter attacking this style with their rapid super stars like main man Zaha.
Callagher also, has had an impressive season, from which he has been called up to play for his nation after brilliant performances and consistent form.
This pair will definitely pose a threat and will likely produce plenty of goal scoring opportunities.
Head coach Vieira will most likely be looking at not only making a statement, but also showing his former club that he too could in future take control of the wheel from the sidelines at his former home and club.
It is expected that both clubs will be playing to secure 3 points which anticipates an exciting match of attacking football.
However, considering Arsenal’s form, the hunger and freshness in their squad and their motivation to continue pushing for top 3, I back Arsenal to secure the 3 points here with Crystal Palace getting in the score sheet via their star ballers Zaha and Callagher. COYG! 1 unit
La Liga – Barcelona v Sevilla - 1x2 & Total Barcelona & Over 3.5 @ 3.75
Dom Rae
Barcelona have well and truly found their groove under Xavi and signed off before the international break with a breath taking 4-0 win against Real Madrid in El Clasico.
Bringing in Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has been an absolute masterstroke and one of the signings of the season, and his seven goals in as many games have propelled Barca to third in La Liga.
Sevilla on the other hand have hit a wobbly patch, drawing three league games in a row and crashing out of Europe, and their campaign is in danger of going off the rails.
Barca have scored four goals or more in five of their last seven games and on an unbeaten run in the league that goes back to 5th December, so they are very much worth chancing to punish Sevilla in goal fest at a rocking Camp Nou on Sunday. 1 unit
NCAAB March Madness - UNC vs Duke Under 150.5 Points @1.92
Nathan
We’ve had an epic run this March, not only avoiding the chaos but cashing in on the madness - so we’re going to push our luck one last time!
At face value this matchup has all trends leaning towards the lights being absolutely shot out of the gym, with the total opening at 150 along with both teams covering the over 8-2 and 7-3 in their last 10 respectively.
However, we’re met with a similar situation as when we backed the Superbowl last month; on the biggest stage, two coaches, experienced vs. first timer.
Coach K on his final run will no doubt show up to show out all his coaching prowess on both ends of the court.
And for first year HC Hubert Davis and his Tar Heels, going bucket for bucket with the Blue Devils will unlikely get it done.
Expect the tournament fatigue and the bright lights to slow down the possessions per game for this one. 3 units
NRL – Penrith Panthers v South Sydney Rabbitohs - 1x2 & Total - Penrith & Under 36.5 @ 2.65
Brad
We have a Grand Final rematch on our hands here with Penrith facing South Sydney for the first time since last year's historic Brisbane decider.
Penrith have been irrepressible so far in their title defence, all without halfback Nathan Cleary steering the side.
Clearly returns to the side this weekend for his first game of the season to further boost the only remaining undefeated side in the competition.
South Sydney returned to form with a bang last weekend, much to the delight of followers of this article, recording their first win of the season against arch rivals Sydney Roosters.
While Souths’ win over the Roosters was impressive, they’ll need to find another gear in this one if they want to gain revenge for last year's Grand Final defeat.
The Panthers are simply impossible to bet against on their home deck, having won their last 18 matches at Penrith Stadium.
Unders also looks the play with two big packs set to go at each other. The last three meetings between these two have produced under 37.5 points.
Unders has also saluted in the last six night matches in this fixture and we’re backing it to come in again, along with another Penrith win in front of their adoring fans. 2 units
Dota2 Dreamleague - OG vs Tundra Esports - Correct Score 1:2 @ 3.20
David
Tundra has been a different team ever since former OG support Saksa joined their ranks.
They’ve only dropped 2 matches with their current lineup, one was a best-of-one with Nigma Galaxy and the other was a grand final in the Invitational in Dubai with Boom Esports where they narrowly lost with a score of 2 maps to 3.
OG on the other hand is comprised of young talent who has occasional sparks of brilliance but still lacks the consistency to be a major contender.
Most notably they defeated Team Liquid, probably the best team in WEU, but lost to Team Secret, a team who’s supposed to be good on paper but is struggling in the mid-field.
I think OG would be able to pull something out of the hat in order to win one map but ultimately the experience and creativity of Tundra will close the series. 1 unit
AFL - North Melbourne v West Coast - Under 169.5 total points
George
No Kennedy for West Coast, and no real key forward that can truly impact the scoreboard at North (as well as the 9+ potential COVID outs for the Eagles) has all the makings for an under hit. Last time they met: Round 17 @ Optus Stadium, NM 70 def. WCE 60 - 30 total scoring shots. 1.5 units
