English Premier Leag ue - Arsenal vs Leicester City Asian Total - Over 2.75 @ $1.83

  • Nick

Arsenal have looked a stronger team in the off-season.

With last weekends strong showing against Crystal Palace on the opening day, their confidence will have only increased.

A 2-0 victory which could have been more if not for some missed gilt-edged chances.

Conversely, Leicester let a 2 goal lead slip to Brentford in their opening match.

Leicester are still capable of anything on their day, but their recent away record leaves a lot to be desired.

Just four away wins last season, and one clean sheet which came against Burnley in March.

With these defensive frailties it’s hard to see them keeping Jesus & Co at bay.

Arsenal are justified favourites heading into this, but given the unpredictability of both teams I think the smarter bet is going for the goals in what's sure to be an entertaining match. 2 units

AFL - Melbourne Demons vs Carlton Blues - Carlton Handicap +23.5 @ $1.89

  • Blake

Saturday night in Melbourne, Australia and the famed MCG is sure to be rocking with last years Premiers taking on Carlton.

In a match that is sure to shape the upcoming finals series, Carlton had a boost overnight with their Captain and spiritual leader Patrick Cripps getting a two match ban overturned.

Melbourne on the other hand have been patchy at best in recent times.

If we're honest with ourselves their best football would blow the Blues off the park in this contest but will we see their best?

It's hard expect as much and with Carlton looking to secure a Top 8 spot, there's enough on the line that they can at least make a contest of this game.

Based on that we're playing the +23.5 handicap and hoping that the Blues can make this game a close, low scoring scrap. 1.5 units

NRL - Gold Coast Titans v Manly Sea Eagles - 1x2 & Total Gold Coast & Over 48.5 @ 5

  • Brad

Get ready for a shootout in the Glitter Strip when Gold Coast hosts Manly in Sunday football.

These two sides take what can only be described as a relaxed view on defending, both conceding 30+ points last weekend.

Combine that with the dry conditions conducive to attacking football that is expected at Robina on Sunday, we should see a high-scoring affair.

Manly are still in the fight for finals football, but given their recent form that looks unlikely.

Gold Coast on the other hand are desperate to avoid the wooden spoon and are currently on a 10 game losing streak.

For the Titans to miss out on finishing bottom this season this game is a must win.

In front of their home fans we’re backing them to do just that in what should be an entraining affair for the neturals. 2 units

English Premier League - Manchester City v Bournemouth - Asian Handicap Manchester City -2.75 @ 1.87

  • George

This weekend we head over to the Etihad Stadium, where the defending champions host the newly-promoted Cherries with a high chance to go a perfect 6 points from 6 to kick off their new campaign.

Surprisingly, both teams come into this game following solid wins last week, with the Cityzens churning out a professional 2-0 win against West Ham while Bournemouth shocked the EPL universe with a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Vitality Stadium.

Unfortunately for the latter, this may be a case of ‘crashing back down to reality’, facing a generational team with a generational talent in the Norweigan unicorn - Erling Haaland.

Cherries boss Scott Parker has his hands full in trying to nullify their opponents’ attack, combined with the unpredictability of Joao Concelo, the architecture of Kevin de Bruyne, the dazzle of Jack Grealish/Riyad Mahrez, and the stubbornness of John Stones/Ruben Dias.

It will be one of those games where it could be over by the 15-minute mark, and see this being a 6-0 blowout.  4 units

English Premier League - Chelsea v Tottenham Asian Total Goals - Under 2.5 @ 1.895

  • Dom Rae

The first clash of the season between two of the 'big six' takes place at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in a game where both sides will want to lay down a marker for the season ahead.

Tottenham won 4-1 at home to Southampton on the opening weekend while Chelsea edged past Everton 1-0 thanks to a Jorginho penalty.

Chelsea had the heart ripped out of their defence over the summer, losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, but still have a vastly experience backline, a world class goalkeeper and supplemented an already talented attack with the sensational and vastly underrated Raheem Sterling.

Given the way Tottenham finished last season and strengthened over the summer, it's tempting to back them despite their wretched record against the Blues over the years, particularly with Richarlison available to make his debut to add serious depth to their attack.

Both Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte know the importance of staying in touch at this stage of the season and that could lead to a cagey, tactical battle in which both teams settle for a draw.

Six of the last seven meetings between the sides have seen two goals or less, so a little punt on the under 2.5 goals market is the play here. 1 unit

Sportiva Salernitana vs AS Roma - 1x2 & Both Teams to Score - Roma & Yes @ 3.05

  • Caelum

Roma, despite not finishing in a top four spot last season, will be one of the toughest opponents for Serie A sides this season, following their Conference League trophy and an aggressive transfer window. Jose Mourinho is staying on as manager, while star Argentine playmaker Paulo Dybala joins on a free from Juventus.

Nemanja Matic joins on a free from Manchester United in what could be a very shrewd move, whilst not to be forgotten, Georginio Wijnaldum is officially in the nation's capital for a season on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

They will no doubt have expectations to go one further than last season and finish in a Champions League spot, if not better than that.

The squad is now more settled under Mourinho and should pick up three points to start their campaign on the weekend.

Salernitana were able to stay in the top flight by the skin of their teeth last season, finishing one point ahead of Cagliari in the relegation battle, despite owning the worst goal difference in the league.

They lost key midfielder Ederson to Atalanta, but in a bid to avoid "second season syndrome", have spent that money on a host of up and coming talents across the world to help them build for the future.

One interesting side story to this fixture will be what impact Norwegian forward Erik Botheim will have on this game.

He scored two goals for former club Bodo/Glimt in last season's Conference League group stage 6-1 smashing of Roma, so perhaps there are some goals in this one for the hosts.

Nevertheless, we'll back I Giallorossi to pick up three points in what should be a great contest to start what also promises to be another hotly contested Serie A season. 1 unit

AFL - Western Bulldogs vs GWS Giants - Western Bulldogs & Under 170.5 @ 2.33

  • Matt R

It's the the grudge match between the Dogs & GWS at Marvel. After a disappointing loss at home last week the Dogs will have to leave nothing in the tank this week to have any chance at finals. Look for the Dogs to be up on their toes this week pressing harder on the ball and applying a lot more pressure like they're known for. With GWS having no chance at finals I can't see them bringing much to the game this week. Easy win for the dogs with 100+ points and can't see GWS threatening much in their forward half. 3 units

MLB - Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees - Winner New York Yankees @ 1.8

  • Alex

Taking the Yankees to win this at Fenway Park simply due to Boston's poor performance as of late.

The Red Sox have won only one out of the past seven games, conceding a total of 52 runs in that time.

To add to this, Eovaldi is expected to play.

Not only has his recent performance been quite poor, his efforts against the Yankees this year have also been below par.

Expecting the Yankees to secure the win in this matchup. 1 unit

La Liga - Getafe CF - Atletico Madrid - 1x2 & Total Atletico Madrid & Over 1.5 @ 2.40

  • Cesar

La Liga kicks off with a Madrid Derby this weekend!

After a long break, we are back to the top flight in Spain.

After last year’s 3rd place performance, Atletico are back on track, having completed their classic pre season of hard work with and without the ball.

There is no doubt they will be one of the fittest sides in Europe.

In terms of transfers, Atletico have strengthened their midfield with decent signings such as Witsel and returning player Saul who will be bringing world class technique and control in the middle of the park.

Getafe will be looking at kicking off their season with a good result whether that means 1 point or 3, they will be ready to bite against their city rivals.

They’ve made some decent singings that have already proven themselves in La Liga such as Luis Milla, who finished off strong the season last year and should bring some quality into the midfield. However, Getafe haven’t looked too sharp in pre season.

In this Madrid derby, Atletico comes off a successful pre season and fired up as usual. Getafe however, are going into this match shaky after two losses in a row.

Atletico Madrid to win here and over 1.5 goals. 4 units

NRL - Parramatta Eels vs. South Sydney Rabbitohs - 1x2 & Total Parramatta Eels & Over 45.5 @4.5

  • Nathan T

If there is one thing we can count on, it’s the inconsistency of Parramatta...

But we’re happy to back them in here!

Contrary to their rollercoaster of performances, the Eels have found themselves right in the mix against the top-end of the table teams.

Wins against Penrith and Melbourne serve to demonstrate their battling attitude against the odds and as Home underdogs, this bet looks like delicious value.

Expect points from this high energy game as both teams will jump right out of the blocks with the prediction that Parramatta will have that just that edge on the defensive end to claim the premiership points! 4 units
