Nations League Volleyball - Italy vs France - Point Handicap Italy +5.5 @ 1.88

  • Nick

We’re down to the Semi Finals of the Mens competition, with four out of the top six countries in the world rankings still in it to win it.

Considering Italy qualified top of the overall qualifying rounds, and will enjoy playing in front of a home crowd at Bologna, their handicap mark is quite tantalising.

No doubt France are the team to beat, but Italy taking at least a set off France should ensure this bet just about comes through, and this should be a close fought match. 2 units

Darts World Matchplay 2022 - Winner Gerwyn Price @ 4.5

  • CBod

The Iceman will play in the QF vs Jose de Sousa later today and will go off ~1.5 favourite.

Jose ‘The Special One’ was overcome with emotion after an extremely impressive performance against ex-World Champion, Rob Cross.

But it does feel like this could of been a ‘peak too soon’ and after some poor results on the European Tour this season, you have to fancy the World No.2.

With this bet being for him to win it outright, he needs to navigate the Semi’s too.

So it helps that the no.3 seed, Michael Smith, was knocked out of his quarter yesterday leaving the Dutch duo of Danny Noppert (11th seed) and Dirk van Duijvenbode (14th seed) meaning he will go into this favourite.

And with every round being a longer and longer format this suits Gerwyn Price with his rhythm.

There is a reason why he is the 3x (’18, ’19 & ’21) Grand Slam Champion, where the format is Bo35 from the QF stage.

He knows it too when the 2021 World Champion is saying things like “I’m getting back to where I should be and I fancy myself against anyone.” 0.75 units .

CSGO - IEM Cologne - Mibr vs Movistar Riders Winner: Mibr @ 1.95

  • Alex

While these teams have only faced off once before with Movistar Riders winning 2-0 at Katowice in February, both teams look relatively even in form and skill.

Considering this match is a Bo1 format, the map will be a huge factor. This looks very much like a 50/50 contest. With the overtime promo included, Mibr at 1.95 seems like a good price. 1 unit

UFC Fight Night London - Hermansson Vs Curtis - Hermansson to win @ $1.92

  • Blake

This weekends UFC co-main event is a fight fit for a Marvel Movie.

With an injured Darren Till out of his fight against Jack Hermansson, Chris Curtis has stepped up to take on the divisions upper echelon in merry old England.

But what does that have to do with the superhero genre? Well it's “The Joker” vs. “The Action Man” in what promises to be an intriguing fight.

Curtis has the stand up to trouble Hermansson and he's on a tear right now.

On the other hand, Hermansson is a strong grappler who has the ability to finish Curtis if this one gets to the mat.

Based on that we're backing the Joker to bounce back here and get back to winning ways with a statement win. 2 units

AFL - Collingwood Magpies Vs. Essendon Bombers - Winner - Collingwood @1.72

  • Matt

The big Anzac Day rematch is here, and both teams supporters will up and about for this classic rivalry.

Collingwood have a big opportunity to make the top four, with this a must win to keep those aspirations on track.

Essendon have won four of their last five and hit some form after a terrible start to the season, and this will be a bit of a grudge match for the team and fans, after losing to Collingwood on ANZAC Day.

I am still backing Collingwood to win this though, they have had a great season and are in fantastic form themselves.

New coach, Craig McRae has really turned things around, and created a great culture amongst the group.

Nick Daicos has been instrumental in his first year, while veterans such as Pendlebury just keep on keeping on. Backing Collingwood to win this, 1 unit

Soccer - European Championship, Women - France vs Netherlands - 1x2 & Total France & Over 2.5 @ 2.46

  • Cesar

The Women’s Euros has been providing the soccer goods with plenty of huge clashes where we’ve seen massive wins, dominations, upsets and questionable comebacks.

Here France has been one of the favourites with a pretty stacked team and an attractive football style, they have been dominating the International stage and haven’t lost since April 2021.

Smacking teams for fun, they seem to be the Nation to fear in this tournament and in their previous clash, they beat the Netherlands 3-1.

However, Netherlands has been a great side too so far, having secured great results against top nations like Brazil and Portugal.

Nevertheless, I see France continuing their domination against a strong Netherlands team that I expect to score.

CFL - Edmonton Elks vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers Edmonton Elks Total (Incl. Overtime) - Under 18.5 @ 1.88

  • Nathan T

We can’t wait for the return of football on the gridiron, but while we do, the Canadian Football League can give us a tease!

We cross over to a first vs. last place matchup in the West division between Winnipeg and Edmonton, finding value in the totals but more specifically Edmonton’s team total.

Let’s dive into the numbers. In the three matches at home this season, it’s been tough scoring for the Elks as they’ve yet to surpass the 18.5 mark and more interestingly, all three opponents have been divisional meets.

Pile onto that that matchup against the top defensive rated team in the division and the Elks are looking at a grit and grind to find the back of an albeit enormous endzone.

At first glance I do see points in this match but Elks not being able to contribute enough here.  3 units

World Athletics Championships - Men’s Javelin Throw Winner - Anderson Peters @ 2.25

  • Brad

We’re nearing the end of the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon with a host of medals set to be handed out this weekend ahead of the final day on Sunday.

It’s hard to find value in the winners markets with favorites shorter than 1.80 dominating most fields.

One event that has caught our eye is the Men’s Javelin Throw with Saturday’s final looking to be an open field.

Grenada’s Anderson Peters heads to Oregon as reigning world champion, looking to make amends for his disappointing Tokyo 2020 Olympics campaign where he failed to make the finals.

Peters is currently ranked number one in the world and has the longest throw of the year of 93.07 next to his name, which he recorded in May at the scence of his 2019 World Champs triumph in Doha, Qatar.

India’s Neeraj Chopra will go into this event as current Olympic Gold Medalist but we’re going to back Peters to put his disappointment of last year behind him and remain World Champ. 1 units

Denmark Superligaen - AaB Aalborg v FC Copenhagen - FC Copenhagen (1x2 market) @ 2.00

  • George

This match will involve two teams hungry to win their first points of the new season after disappointing results in the first matchday.

My money will be on the 14-time domestic league champions purely based on their recent head-to-head battles, winning four of their last five meetings against Aalborg overall and four of their last five away from home against these opponents.

With Champions League qualifiers out of the way and successfully advancing to the group stage draw, they can now put all their focus on the domestic competition and get back on track towards a strong campaign.

While the loss of Greek utility Zeca (knee injury) may impact them, this squad still boasts the depth to take care of the task at hand and clinch their first three points of the season.

I'm predicting a 2-1 scoreline their way. 2.5 units

Cricket - 2nd ODI - England v South Africa - Total Player Performance Points - Moeen Ali Over 35.5 @ 1.86

  • Dom Rae

England lost their first ODI to South Africa earlier this week in Ben Stokes' last England game in this format before retirement.

The game was also memorable for being played in some of the hottest conditions ever recorded in the UK, but this match should be played in relatively cooler conditions at Old Trafford and the man to turn too once again is Moeen Ali, a world class operator who can impose brutal damage on any team with both bat and ball.

England faced a fairly hopeless chase when Moeen came to the crease in the first game against the Proteas, but he managed to take a wicket as South Africa clubbed 333/5 and has been in great nick in T20 and ODIs this summer.

Expect a better performance with the bat, in friendlier conditions, and Moeen to bowl close to his allocated 10 overs, making 36 performance points look a likely outcome for the Warwickshire man in on Friday. 1 unit

AFL - West Coast Eagles vs St. Kilda Saints - Asian Handicap - West Coast +19.5 @ 1.89

  • Caelum

Despite a poor loss on Sunday to the Hawks, West Coast still loom as a danger side for any opponent facing them in the run to the finals.

They return home to Optus Stadium to take on a St. Kilda side short on form, as well as confidence.

Tim Kelly seems to have passed his fitness tests and is set to play.

This will be a major boost for the Eagles engine room, which is now well complimented by mid-season draft number one pick Jai Culley, who made a strong debut last week.

In what seems like the first time all season, the Eagles have not made any team changes yet (subject to final selection on Friday), which will hopefully allow this squad to settle in a bit more as they hope to end the season on a high note ahead of what looms as a long rebuild.

The Eagles also have an extraordinary recent record against the Saints, with only three losses since 2011.

It was also one year prior to that, when the Saints last beat West Coast in Perth. Since then, the Eagles have won seven on the trot at home to St. Kilda.

The Saints on the other hand, have a lot more on the line. Superstar tall Paddy Ryder will miss through injury and may not return all season.

Considering how important he is to their lineup, it's no surprise Brett Ratten has named backup ruckman Tom Campbell in the extended interchange, should he want a partner for Rowan Marshall.

Dougal Howard has also not been sighted since the Saints surprise win against Carlton in round 16.

Given the quality of the Eagles key forwards, as well as mid-sized forward Jake Waterman's good recent form, the Saints defence will be under constant pressure.

With only one finals spot on the ladder seemingly up for grabs, the Saints should want the game more than West Coast.

But after the last few weeks, where their intent and desire has been severely lacking in matches against top eight opposition, are they going to stand up and make a case for that eighth spot on the ladder?

At the very least, West Coast should cover the line in this one, but don't be surprised if they take all four points and make a tough run home for the Saints seem nigh on impossible. 2 unit

F1 British Grand Prix 2022 - 1st Practice Winner - Leclerc, Charles @ 2.50

  • David

Equipped with a fresh power unit which saw him take grid penalties in Canada, Charles will be eager to put in some laps and try to test out his new car and this should equate to fast times in first Practice.

Worthy to note he’s set the fastest time on 1st Practice 5 out of 9 times so far this year and on the times that he doesn’t, he usually came in second. I think 2.50 might be too long a price here. 3 units

AFL - Western Bulldogs V Melbourne Demons Western Bulldogs by 32+ @ 7.60

  • Matt R

The second edition of last seasons GF rematch is here and the Bulldogs are coming off a hot win against the Saints last week on the home turf.

Back at Marvel this week and with Josh Bruce having a game back in the firsts under his belt look for him to be dangerous along with Jamara Ugle Hagan who's starting to fire and Bontempelli will be just doing Bont things.

Melbourne are just trash at the moment and the dogs will be making a statement with their season on the line. 3 units

AFL - Sydney v Adelaide - Under 155.5 @ 1.88

  • Nathan P

Two historically low scoring teams.

Checked the forecast and rain is expected at the SCG.

Should be scrappy, old school, smash-mouth footy game.

Swans win here in a low scoring affair.

Don’t expect many goals in this tug of war. 1 unit

UFC Fight Night London - Paddy Pimblett vs Jordan Leavitt - Winning Method Paddy Pimblett via KO @ 3.15

  • Ben

Paddy the Baddy returns to The Octagon this weekend, it’s time to see if the lad can back up all his talk.

Now the man has certainly got a mouth on him, but does he have a chin? I reckon. I'm predicting Paddy to stray from his default wrestling style in this fight and throw some hands, he’s out to prove to UFC fans that the lad has knockout power.

His opponent Jordan Leavitt won’t be able to stand and bang with the baddy.

Potentially this fight stays on the ground with two strong wrestlers but I'm hoping for more action on the feet. 2 units

CSGO - IEM Cologne - MOUZ vs Astralis - Winner MOUZ @ 1.98

  • Alex

Now into the quarter finals, MOUZ look to continue their streak after toppling Nip, Vitality and Heroic.

Astralis have also been in good form despite their loss to Faze, having taken down Cloud9, Furia and Big.

Considering this matchup will be in front of a crowd, it will be a great test for MOUZ with their lack of experience in such environments as compared to Astralis.

The last time these two teams faced off, was back in IEM Winter 2021 with a decisive 2-0 victory for Astralis on Nuke and Ancient. Taking MOUZ to win this. 1 unit
