NFL 2022 Weekly Preview: Week 17
Welcome to our end of the year weekly preview.
We hoped everyone had a wonderful Christmas and got everything they wished for from Santa.
Unfortunately for us, we went 2-2-1 but are very confident that we will turn it around this week.
Would there be a better way to start 2023 with a 5 team multi hitting?
We have our eyes on the prize and are very confident with our plays this week!
If this is your first time reading our Weekly Preview, we have a winner for each of the 5 days of football.
This covers the NFL Thursday Night Football, a Friday college football game, a Saturday college football game, a Sunday NFL game and finally the Monday Night Football game to end the week!
With that said, let’s get into the winners for the week!
NFL – Dallas Cowboys @ Tennessee Titans
Welcome to the final Thursday night game of the season.
The Dallas Cowboys (11-4) head into Tennessee to take on the slumping Titans who are currently sitting at 7-8.
Losers of 5 in a row, the Titans have literally nothing to play for this week against the Cowboys.
Their whole season will come down to an AFC South showdown against the Jaguars in Jacksonville next week for the division crown.
With that said, the Titans should rest all their players this week that are banged up.
The Titans are by far the most injury plagued team this year and a week of rest should definitely help them.
On the contrary, the Dallas Cowboys still have an outside shot to win their division.
If the Eagles lose their last two games, the Cowboys will win the NFC East.
If you throw out the fourth quarter against the Colts, the Cowboys have been in very close games the past five games.
Therefore, we believe that the Cowboys will roll to victory this week in Tennessee against a team that literally has their whole attention on the following week.
This is ultimately a bye week for Tennessee to get healthy and ready for Jacksonville. Don’t get fooled by getting 10 points here.
Lay the 10 points with the Cowboys and expect Dak Prescott to throw all over this banged up Titans secondary.
Selection: Dallas Cowboys -10 @ 1.89
College Football – NC State Wolfpack @ Maryland Terrapins
For Friday, we focus our attention on the Duke’s Mayo Bowl which will be played in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Maryland Terrapins 7-5 take on the #23 ranked NC State Wolfpack in a game that will feature a lot of missing players.
Both of these teams come into this game struggling. Maryland has lost three of their last four games but to quality opponents.
After losing to Wisconsin, Penn State and Ohio State, the Terrapins finished their season with an impressive 37-0 win against Rutgers.
NC State has lost 2 of their last 3 games but are coming off a double overtime win against their rival North Carolina.
The problem with the Wolfpack is that they are not the same team they were early in the year with their stud quarterback Devin Leary.
Leary, who got injured against Florida State, has just entered the transfer portal.
Along with him not being on the side-lines to support his team, NC State also lost their offensive coordinator and their top wide receiver.
On the other side of the ball, the Terrapins have lost their top 3 wide receivers.
With all these players leaving for the transfer portal, we believe that we have to look at the quarterback situation to determine the right side.
Taulia Tagovailoa is a definite upgrade between the two quarterbacks that the Wolfpack will play.
While this game is being played in the home state of North Carolina, we will still side with the better quarterback and take the Maryland Terrapins here.
We see no motivation here for the Wolfpack whatsoever, so take the Terrapins and expect a hard fought victory.
Selection: Maryland Terrapins +1 @ 1.88
College Football - TCU Horned Frogs @ Michigan Wolverines
The College Football Playoffs are finally here.
We are focused on the Fiesta Bowl Semi Final between the TCU Horned Frogs and the undefeated Michigan Wolverines.
Michigan has redemption on their mind after getting humiliated in the Semi Finals last year against Georgia.
Michigan lost 34 to 11 and committed three turnovers. Luckily for them, they are taking on the most overrated team that the College Playoffs has ever seen.
TCU is not one of the top 4 teams in the country and are very lucky to be in this game.
The Horned Frogs have had multiple close calls all season and are coming off a disappointing overtime loss in the Big 12 Championship game.
Everyone knows that the Big 12 is not known for their defence and TCU will have a very hard time offensively moving the ball against this great Michigan defence.
The Wolverines give up 13.4 points per game and should be able to control the line of scrimmage.
Michigan has only had 2 games this whole season where they have won by less than 10 points.
Therefore, we are very confident that Michigan will not only win but cover the 7.5-point spread. In the Big 10 Championship game, Michigan started slow and went into halftime with a 14-13 lead.
They blew the doors off of Purdue in the second half and won by 21 points.
They have had this game circled on their calendar since they were demolished last year.
Expect them to be highly motivated and eager to make the College Football Championship.
Lay the points with Michigan here and expect a lopsided victory.
They are by far the better team here and we would be absolutely shocked if they don’t cover this spread.
Selection: Michigan Wolverines -7.5 @ 1.90
NFL – Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers
Everything that needed to happen last week happened for the Green Bay Packers.
With two games remaining, the Packers have a very good shot to make the Playoffs.
All they need is the Washington Commanders to lose one of their last two games or the Giants to lose both of their games and for them to win out.
The Packers have won 3 straight and are on the verge of being 8-8 with a win over the 12-3 Minnesota Vikings.
We always love when a team with a worse record is laying points and we will bite on the Packers this week.
The Vikings are by far the biggest frauds of the NFL. With a +5 scoring differential for the season, the Vikings seem to always pull a rabbit out of their helmet in the fourth quarter.
Last week was no different when the Vikings won at the end of regulation with a 61-yard field goal.
Though the Vikings are desperately hanging out to the #2 seed, we believe that the Packers are the play here.
Aaron Rodgers is amazing in December in Lambeau and we can’t see these Vikings hanging tough for 4 quarters.
We will take the Packers here in a must win situation against the overrated Vikings.
Though 4 points may seem like a lot to lay against a 12-3 team, we expect the Packers to win by double digits here.
Take the Packers and expect Aaron Rodgers to torch this Minnesota secondary.
Selection: Green Bay Packers -4 @ 1.92
NFL – Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals
The last Monday Night Football game of the year will most likely be the best all season.
This week we have the 12-3 Buffalo Bills heading into Cincinnati to take on the 11-4 Bengals.
Both of these teams are red hot and are trying to get the best possible seed for the Playoffs.
The Bills, winners of 6 straight, are currently the #1 seed.
The Bengals, winners of 7 straight, are the 3rd seed but will move to the 2nd seed if they beat the Bills this week.
If the Chiefs somehow lose, the Bengals would then be #1 seed with a win this week.
With all these scenarios, we will keep it very simple.
Buffalo knows that they need home field advantage to make it to the Super Bowl.
Arrowhead Stadium has been their Achilles heel for the past two seasons and the Bills do not want to play Kansas City again especially away from home.
Therefore, we expect Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills to play a great 60-minute football game.
The Bills have not played a dominant game on both sides of the ball since October when they blew out the Steelers.
The Bengals have been in a handful of close games and should have lost last week against the Patriots after almost blowing a 22-point lead.
Though we think the Bengals are a solid squad on both sides of the ball, we think Buffalo is the best team in the NFL.
This is a huge game for Josh Allen and his legacy.
A win here will most likely have Buffalo hosting all the AFC Playoff games and the Bills dreams of winning a Super Bowl will become more a reality.
Expect him to show up big in Primetime and ultimately get the job done against these Bengals.
Take the Bills and feel extremely confident with this play.
Selection: Buffalo Bills +0.5 @ 1.91
We hope everyone has a very happy and safe New Year.
This week our multi pays 24:1 and we would love to start 2023 with a huge win.
We are very confident in our plays so we highly recommend jumping on this multi with us.
Best of luck and enjoy this wonderful week of football!
