UFC Fight Night: Blachowicz vs Rakic

News Content

Hey, fight fans, our favorite night of the week is back- Fight night from the heart of Las Vegas.

We witnessed an amazing PPV at UFC 274 which had some absolute highlight reels in Michael Chandler's head kick knockout and Charles Oliveira doing what he does in a 4-minute war.

We also had a great week of best bets cashing in two tickets for you guys in Randy Brown @2.11 and Charles Oliveira @1.70, although missed out on our multi as Chandler did win but did so by a highlight KO as opposed to our decision prop.

We're back this week with an interesting card with some competitive fights which will keep us going until that monster UFC 275 shows up in Singapore.

We'll be breaking down our explosive Light Heavyweight main event and hoping to finally cash in our multi after a close-run last week, so let's dive right in!

Jan Blachowicz vs Aleksandar Rakic

How can two large men colliding in our cozy 30-foot Apex Octagon be boring?

We've got an interesting main event ahead of us which will play a prominent factor in determining who is next for the Light Heavyweight king after UFC 275.

The beholder of the legendary Polish power, Jan Blachowicz is back to make more highlights this week as he looks to make another run at that UFC belt that he held last year.

Jan has been one of the most underrated fighters in the UFC having beaten some top names when he was counted out by the masses.

The former champion knocked out some of the absolute best in Luke Rockhold, Corey Anderson, and Dominick Reyes on his journey to claiming UFC gold.

Jan holds immense power in his hands to knock his opponent's lights out and the durability to walk forward to put the pressure on the opposition.

He has won 8 of his last 10 only losing to the dangerous Thiago Santos and the current king of the Light Heavyweight's Glover Teixeira.

This week he has his hands full as he faces a tough Austrian contender who many believe will hold UFC gold one day.

The 30-year-old Aleksandar Rakic is one of the top talents in this stacked Light Heavyweight division.

He has won 6 of his 7 UFC bouts only losing a controversial split decision to former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir.

Rakic is very well-rounded, he has great kicks, scary knockout power, the technical ability to stay patient, and a reliable ground game.

The Austrian has beaten two of the best Light Heavyweight on the roster back-to-back in Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos.

This fight is interesting as both men are very well-rounded, but we believe Jan Blachowicz is the better power puncher so he will look to get close and make this a boxing match.

Contrarily Rakic is the better kicker so he will maintain distance and mix in his low kicks and go high occasionally to keep the former champ guessing.

Best Bets

Our first best bet this week is a chalky parlay of two favorable markets in Nick Maximov to win and Over 2.5 rounds in the Chookagian vs Ribas Women's flyweight bout.

Nick Maximov is a top undefeated prospect in the UFC facing a winnable opponent in Andre Petroski. We think the cardio and grappling of Maximov will ensure that he stays undefeated this weekend.

Our second leg is for the Women's flyweight bout to enter the final minutes, Chookagian has been to the scorecards in 16 of her 21 career fights.

She has only been finished by the best on the feet, but she is always safe on the ground which is Ribas’s world.

Chookagian will have the size advantage and should be able to take this one to the judges’ scorecards.

Our second-best bet is on the prelim women's flyweight bout between Viviane Araujo and Andrea Lee.

Both these women are top prospects, and this will be a competitive fight, but we think the size advantage of Araujo will help her take this fight to the mat which will be the deciding factor in this close affair.

Our final bet comes on this explosive main event between Jan Blachowicz and Aleksandar Rakic.

Jan has been on a great run but like all good things, this one will come to end when he collides with the Austrian prospect.

Rakic will have better cardio, the ability to take this fight to the mat, and better kicks which will help him unlock a big win on the judges' scorecards.

Selection: Nick Maximov + Over 2.5 Rounds in Katlyn Chookagian vs Amanda Ribas (Win market, Asian Total) @1.73

Viviane Araujo (Win market) @1.96

Aleksandar Rakic by Decision (Win method) @2.90

Parlay all Selections @9.81
