NHL Regular Season Weekly Preview: Week 1
Summary
We are coming to you live from Prague, Czech Republic, as the new season of the National Hockey League kicks off this Friday with the annual set of global games.
NHL fans are more than excited that the best hockey tournament in the world makes its return, and with it the best clubs in the world as well.
After the Colorado Avalanche left their imprint on the history books last season, there is much to be desired from all other thirty teams in the league.
Both offensive and defensive sides of the ice are needed to succeed in today’s game, and the Avalanche proved just that.
In a season full of uncertainties, ups and downs, and drama, there could only be one winner.
The 2022-2023 season figures to be one of the most even yet, and there is definite parity between all teams in both conferences.
Although the Avalanche remain defending champions, there is a ton of faith in the field this year.
Some of the old guard has started to retire and die out, and the new guard of superstars is coming in fast. Players like Connor McDavid, Nathan McKinnon, and Leon Draisaitl have really proven their worth as the new guys in the league and we are here for it.

Nashville Predators versus San Jose Sharks Double Header - Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th, 2022
The NHL opens its season up with a two-game doubleheader featuring the Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks in Prague.
The O2 Arena welcomes the NHL for the annual European show matches, and it will mark the start of the 2022 season.
The Nashville Predators are looking to build upon a decent 2021-2022 season, a campaign which saw them leapfrog into the playoffs, but bow out in the first round to the eventual champions, the Colorado Avalanche.
Their talent is clearly visible every time they stake on the rink, but their chemistry and mentality as a team is not all there just yet.
A younger team that figures to do damage as time goes on, their outlook on this campaign is very positive.
They have a bunch of raw attacking players that caused havoc in 2021-2022, and some solid defenders, capable of creating plays on the ice and protecting leads in close games.
The Nashville front office knows how capable their current roster is and will more than likely be looking to make some contending moves before the deadline.
Look for the Predators to be favoured in these first two games at the O2 Arena and push the pace on the sharks early.
San Jose is in a bit of a pickle after a couple of years in the mediocrity hole.
Their NHL standards have dropped significantly below par, and they face a few years of rebuilding if they want to come up the ranks and contend once again.
Their roster is filled with a ton of new faces, and they will be hoping to implement some of those talents into the mix of things this Friday and Saturday.
Using these games as an opportunity to see where they’re truly at, the Predators are looking to feast on the weak. Look for San Jose to try and stay in the contest and counter with the puck when having numbers ahead.
