UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs Spann
Welcome back fight fans to another Fight Night breakdown.
We've got another intriguing night of fights which sets us up for the grand UFC 285 next week.
Some underrated fights on this card should make it a card worth tuning in for, so let's get into it!
Nikita Krylov vs Ryan Spann
The recent title picture change in the Light Heavyweight division has opened the gates for ranked contenders to make a statement for a shot at gold.
This week we've got number 6 versus 8 in a much-anticipated explosive main-event bout between Nikita Krylov and Ryan "Superman" Spann.
Krylov has been a known UFC & MMA veteran of 38 pro fights which has seen him compete against some of the best in Glover Teixeira, Jan Blachowicz, and Magomed Ankalaev.
The Ukraine native has gained momentum late in his career but is looking good coming off two impressive wins against Alexander Gustafsson & Volkan Oezdemir.
He is a kill-or-be-killed kind of a fighter who pushes for the finish and has only seen the scorecards four times in a 38-fight career.
It takes two to tango and Krylov has got a great dance partner this week in Ryan Spann who is cut from the same cloth.
Spann has been touted as one of the best emerging talents in the division but has only just started to live up to his potential.
He is coming off 2 impressive first-round finishes of his own against Ion Cutelaba & Dominick Reyes.
Ryan Spann has some of the heaviest hands in the division backed by his impressive submission game.
Don't blink because this fight could be over before you know it as both men combine for 45 finishes and number 46 seems inevitable when they clash inside the Apex this weekend.
Best Bets
For our first best bet we're covering the Women's Flyweight fight between Tatiana Suarez and Montana De La Rosa.
This sees the much-awaited return of Tatiana Suarez who has been one of the most impressive Women's prospect in MMA until she had to step away from the sport to injury.
She has finished fighters like Alexa Grasso and Carla Esparza who have had big roles to play in the title pictures of their divisions.
We think she's taken a big step-down in competition in her come-back fight and is going to be very live for a finish at over 2/1 odds.
Our next pick comes on a ranked middleweight bout between Andre Muniz and Brendan Allen.
Muniz's easiest pathway to victory is via submission but given the BJJ credentials that Allen holds it won't be an easy task.
We think this one will be high-level, and the two fighters might cancel each other's groundwork which could result in the fight getting extended to the later rounds which is our pick.
Our final pick is on the main event and we think this is going to be a quick & violent one to watch.
Ryan Spann is very dangerous and skilled wherever this fight plays out, so we love his chances considering he was an underdog in his last two wins.
Selection: Tatiana Suarez by KO or Submission (Win method, double chance) @2.16
Selection: Over 1.5 rounds, Andre Muniz vs Brendan Allen (Asian Total) @1.72
Selection: Ryan Spann (Win market) @2.37
