NBA Tips and Predictions: March 7 – 13
Summary
Basketball has been a firecracker of entertainment this season, to say the least. Fans have raved over this year’s regular season, and many are just waiting to gear up into what should be one of the most competitive playoff brackets we have ever seen. Talent across the NBA is now scattered amongst many different teams, making the games as exciting as ever. Multiple MVP candidates can be found in both conferences, and there is a strong case to vote for so many unique players. As the season is drawing to a steep close, many of these all-stars will be making their case as to why they deserve the most prestigious individual award.
March 7th – Chicago Bulls vs Philadelphia 76ers
There are very few teams on the level of both the Chicago Bulls and Philly 76ers in the NBA this season. These two teams are heavy hitters on both ends of the court, and are part of the rising crop of the stout Eastern Conference. Chicago is guided by MVP candidate DeMar Derozan, and his prolific mid-range game. The man from Compton is having a stellar year, and is one of the guards that has revived the game in Chicago, along with Zach Lavine. They will be a tough match, but the 76ers are more than game. James Harden and Joel Embiid will need to be on their best behaviour, but this one is going to be a cracker.
Selection: 76ers ML . We like the Sixers in a matchup of Eastern titans, the big men here will prove to be a difference in a big matchup.
March 10 – Golden State Warriors versus Denver Nuggets
Stephen Curry and company are currently struggling in the Golden State. The Warriors have dropped four straight and are looking to find their rhythm again. Although they are not the healthiest of teams at the moment, better results are to be expected from the league’s best three point shooting team. They are trying to find their offense, and it is currently stagnant without playmaker Draymond Green.
The Denver Nuggets are one to watch for in these next few weeks of the season, as they have shown a hot streak in recent times. Nikola Jokic is once again up there for the top MVP candidates, and will be keen on trying to repeat back to back. This game will be important for both squads in terms of seeding and pride, in a regular season where games tend to be indifferent, this one bodes high perspective from both.
Prediction – Denver Nuggets ML. GSW is currently in bad form, and their defence is showing cracks at all points.
