NHL 2023 Stanley Cup Preview: Game 3
Summary
The NHL Stanley Cup Finals rolls on for game three of the potential seven. Leading by two games to none, the VGK have a foothold on the trophy, but still have much to do before celebrating anything just yet.
Their play this postseason has been nothing short of spectacular, and they have a true core that is ready to finally lift the first Stanley Cup of the organization’s history.
There is nothing to say that this time isn’t theirs, but the same may be said for the other side of the ice.
Limiting penalties and going on the powerplay will be of utmost priority for the Florida Panthers, and there’s nothing stopping them from tying this series back up heading to Vegas.
Matthew Tkachuk and company look to bounce back from two away game one and two losses that will sting, but not permanently damage the psyche.
The VGK will look to extend their lead and possibly put all the doubters to bed.
One of these teams will be one step closer or backwards to winning the beloved Stanley Cup so let’s analyze game three now on Stake.com’s sportsbook!
Reset Mentally and Fire Back – Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers are in a dire hole now and need to even this series up at home.
Cats fans have seen the progression of this team through the playoffs and have been surprised during many times, especially during the 1-3 comeback over the Boston Bruins.
There is still a lot of fight left in this team, and they know that losing this game would severely limit their chances at winning the Stanley Cup.
For once, they are back into this position with their home fans in a truly needy position.
Two games home means wins need to start coming thru, especially with game three.
Look for Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett to provide lifts of marksmanship during the game, and hopefully some better bounce-back performances from Sergei Bobrovsky in the process.
A huge comfort Zone – Vegas Golden Knights
VGK is looking great after winning the first two games of this series, but the job is not finished whatsoever yet.
A game three loss could severely hurt their chances at winning the Chip, although they would still be leading. Jonathan Marchessault and Jack Eichel are playing some of the best one-two hockey we’ve ever seen in playoff history, and the rookie Adin Hill has stepped up in the biggest of ways.
Everything seems to be clicking for the Knights at the right time, and sometimes that’s all you need to get your nose across the finish line.
This Knights team looks steady on the track towards greatness, and they need just two more wins to close it out. Game three will be their most difficult by far, though.
Prediction - Bet on the VGK once again as they look to take everything from the desperate Florida Panthers on Stake.com!
