The French Open is now in the pen-ultimate stage, which means four players are left to battle for Clay supremacy. The four remaining? Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, Marin Cilic, and Casper Ruud. When people first saw the draw for RG 2022, there was doubt on whether or not Nadal would go this far. There was light on the two favorites (Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz) making the plays, and moving on to win the chip among others. At this point, both of those favorites are gone and out of the tournament, which means someone could win their first grand slam, or the King of Clay will reign supreme. Semi-Final #1 - Casper Ruud versus Marin Cilic

In a battle of two surprise faces at this stage of the tournament, we have the Norwegian Ruud facing the Croatian Cilic. Casper Ruud has always been a great clay-courter, but he has taken it to another level in Roland Garros 2022. The Top 10 mainstay has been playing with a ton of confidence, and is at home with this surface through five-setters. Oftentimes, players are able to get a set or two off him, but Ruud has shown resilience and toughness to grind out matches and advance. He will be a huge problem for Cilic, as his game is more reliant on getting the ball back in play and being a great counter puncher with his forehand. Marin Cilic is having a dream-run at Roland Garros, and the veteran now finds himself in a spot to make another Grand Slam final. Cilic has taken out his opponents these past two weeks with supreme power, and shot-making ability. He has taken risks in every single match, and they have paid off beautifully for him. Not really a clay player by nature, Cilic has impressed every tennis fan in the world, and would be a pleasant surprise to see him in the Final.

Prediction? - Casper Ruud on the moneyline, the Norwegian will take this in four or five tough sets that will see a great battle between two of the world’s best.

Semi-Final #2 - Alexander Zverev versus Rafael Nadal

Alexander Zverev has pushed through to the Semi-finals off an amazing performance against one of the top three best players in the world at the moment, Carlos Alcaraz. Dispatching the Spaniard over four sets proved to be decisive, and will have the German in high spirits heading into this clash with the King of Clay. Zverev will need to find his serve, and make sure his baseline defense is on point as this semi-final will be difficult. Zverev has beaten Nadal before, however, and if everything is clicking and mistakes are limited, Zverev can absolutely come out with a result here.

Rafael Nadal is ecstatic after beating long-time rival Novak Djokovic in a match of epic proportions this past Tuesday. The best clay player in history has made his mark at RG 2022, with a result that not many fans had seen coming. Having dealt with injuries during this week, and previous weeks beforehand, Rafa was not sure how he was going to fare in the QF match against Nole. However, he found a second gear and made sure his superiority on clay was known.
