UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs Gamrot

News Content

What's up Fight fans? We are back with another classic UFC Fight Night card from the Apex.

UFC Noche was great as we cashed in one ticket and voided the second one given the controversial draw in the main event.

This week we are back to break down some good fights and cash in a parlay for you guys, so let's get into it!

Rafael Fiziev vs Mateusz Gamrot

The Lightweight division has always been the UFC’s star-studded division and this weekend we’ve got a main event that can pave the way for another star to be born at 155 pounds.

Both these fighters are on similar career trajectories considering that they’ve been on solid streaks but fell short when they stepped up to fight top-5 competition.

Rafael Fiziev is one of the most entertaining and talented fighters on the roster coming off 6 performance bonus accolades in exciting fights.

In his short 8-fight UFC career he has managed to defeat top names like Rafael Dos Anjos, Bobby Green, and Renato Moicano.

Fiziev is an explosive Muay-Thai-style striker with lethal kicks that have earned him three finishes in his last four UFC victories.

The rank-6 contender was on his way to a title shot before his loss to the BMF, Justin Gaethje but another win against a top-7 opponent this weekend will put him back on that path.

The two-division KSW champion Mateusz Gamrot entered the UFC as an undefeated prospect who was touted as a future title holder by fight fans.

Gamrot has proven his hype by defeating fellow budding contenders, Arman Tsarukyan, Jalin Turner, and Diego Ferreira.

The Polish native has a grinding wrestling style combined with disciplined boxing and a lethal submission game which makes him a nightmare to verse.

This is a great fight between two top contenders and an underrated striker vs grappler matchup.

Fiziev will look to explode and capitalize early considering that Gamrot has been dropped in his recent fights.

Whereas Gamrot will look to take advantage of Fiziev’s cardio in the later rounds and grind him in what will be an exciting fight regardless.

Best Bets

Our first bet this week comes on a Heavyweight bout between Mohammed Usman and Jake Collier.

Usman has had a decent UFC start with a 2-fight win streak and this week takes on an achievable step up in competition.

Collier has been a hit or miss and is currently on a 3-fight skid against unranked Heavyweights.

We think this should be an easy win for Usman given that he has more pathways to victory.

Next up is our co-main event between ranked Featherweights Bryce Mitchell and Dan Ige.

Mitchell is the better fighter coming off a loss which makes this a competitive fight as he is coming off his first UFC setback.

Ige is well-rounded and will make this a competitive fight but given the durability on both sides, we are confident that this will end up on the judges' scorecards.

Our final pick comes in our main event between ranked Lightweights Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot.

Fiziev has a clear striking and speed advantage in this fight, but his gas tank has given up on him time and again.

Gamrot will have a clear grappling experience advantage as he is a 24-fight MMA veteran who has fought 5 rounds plenty of times.

We predict Gamrot to take some of Fiziev's early shots as he has never been finished and displayed a good chin.

Eventually, we think he will get it to the ground and grind a decision or late submission victory.
