UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs Aspinall

We’re going international baby!!

The UFC is back and in a big way this weekend with the first international card since the pandemic and it is going to be fireworks.

UFC London is a fight night card, but it is as stacked as a PPV, and we cannot wait for the action to unfold.

This week’s card features some of the best British talents on the roster and some great ranked matchups on display.

We did not have an ideal week with our best bets last week as Terrance McKinney lost a close fight but we were able to cash in one ticket for you guys as Super Sodiq & Alex Caceres swung to the final horn @1.63.

We’re pumped for this card and will be breaking down our evenly matched heavyweight main event while picking some sharp lines for you guys. So as always, let’s dive right in!

Alexander Volkov vs Tom Aspinall

We could not have asked for a better main event in London, Britain’s brightest hope for a UFC belt Tom Aspinall will be put to the test against Russian phenom & rank 6 contender Alexander “Drago” Volkov.

Alexander Volkov has had an interesting UFC journey of ups and downs fighting some of the best talents in the world.

Volkov has beaten some tough men on his way to the top of the heap like Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum and Stefan Struve by knockout.

Standing tall at 6 ft 7 inches, Volkov has a reach advantage against most men which helps him outstrike his opponents.

Although this week he faces the most talked about talent on the UFC Heavyweight roster, Tom Aspinall.

Aspinall is currently 4-0 in the UFC with a 100% career finish rate which makes him a menacing force.

Aspinall is an excellent boxer with arguably the quickest hands in this power-heavy division.

Although what makes Aspinall special is his well-roundedness as he is also a black belt in BJJ which adds layers to his threatening game.

The British rank 11 contender has looked impressive in finishes against top heavyweights like Sergey Spivak and former champion Andrei Arlovski.

This fight will be intriguing as both men are great strikers and will have a chess match on the feet.

Volkov will look to use his reach advantage by maintaining range through body kicks and jabs.

Although Aspinall has better boxing and will look to mix in his combos along with faking takedowns to keep Volkov guessing.

Best Bets

We’re going parlay city for our first best bet this week and we’re combining two of the top prospects on the card for a super safe cash in.

Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria had a crazy altercation earlier this week and we’re picking both these talented big favorites to get the job done in their matchups for a potential bout against each other.

Our next best bet comes on this intriguing co-main event which features the return of Dan “The Hangman” Hooker at featherweight against top prospect Arnold Allen.

We believe Allen is on the rise and on an incredible 8 fight win streak which has seen him defeat some of the best talents.

Although Hooker is as tough as they come and will give the British contender a tough war.

Ultimately, we see Allen coming through with the win on the scorecards in a close fight.

Our final best bet comes on this intriguing main event between top heavyweights Alexander Volkov and Tom Aspinall.

Volkov is a great striker and has beaten some tough contenders on his 11 fight UFC run, only losing to the elite in Ciryl Gane, Curtis Blaydes, and Derrick Lewis.

Although we believe Tom Aspinall is the future of this division and his patient fighting style will help him win against a tough Volkov.
