UFC Fight Night: Font vs Vera
Hello Fight fans & Welcome back to another fight night preview, we are back with another classic UFC card for you guys this weekend.
We cashed in another plus money parlay for you guys last week in Over 2.5 rounds (Barber vs De La Rosa) and Jessica Andrade to win.
This weekend's card looks great, and it is filled with some known UFC veteran talent, we believe it is a sleeper and some of these fights will combine for a memorable event.
This week we’ll be breaking down our explosive Bantamweight main event while hoping to cash some tickets for you guys, so let's dive right in!
Rob Font vs Marlon Vera
This is a fight worthy of a main event spot as two of the most talented bantamweights will collide in their prime to make their way into the title picture of this stacked division.
The co-leader of the Boston cartel, Rob Font will make his return to the Octagon to regain momentum on his journey to gold against a tough prospect in Chito Vera.
Rob Font is one of the best pure boxers in this current UFC roster. He has looked impressive winning 4 out of his last 5 fights.
Font has proven his championship metal by going 5 hard rounds against 2 former UFC champions Jose Aldo and Cody Garbrandt.
He is a well-rounded fighter with the patience to utilize his jab and slowly dismantle his opponents.
His best wins have surely been his first-round knockout of Marlon Moraes and 5 round decision against Cody Garbrandt.
Although this week he draws out Ecuador's own Marlon "Chito" Vera. Chito Vera got noticed by the masses when he cashed a huge upset against then-undefeated "Sugar" Sean O'Malley.
Marlon Vera is a very well-rounded fighter with great kicks and underrated submission skills.
He has looked impressive in his knockout wins against Sugar Sean and former UFC champion Frankie Edgar.
Chito has leaned on his toughness at times but it has proven to be a big asset as he has never been finished in his 26-fight MMA career.
This is going to be an exciting clash of styles spectacle as Font will look to enjoy his slight reach advantage by jabbing Chito from the outside.
Althouth Chito will look to use his kicks and make this an ugly fight by mixing in the clinch work and submissions when needed.
Best Bets
At the back of our parlay success, we are starting our best bets this week with another parlay. We’re going to combine Krzysztof Jotko v Gerald Meerschaert to not go the distance with Andrei Arlovski to win.
Gerald has won 32 of his 34 fights by finish and he has been finished 11 times in his effort to add to his win tally.
Given that he pushes for the finishes and has a weak chin, we think a finish can come from either side considering the striking prowess on the Jotko side. We're backing this fight to end before the final horn for our first leg.
Our second leg comes on this heavyweight co-main event between Andrei Arlovski and Jake Collier.
Collier has been missing the mark in the UFC winning only 5 of his last 10 fights whereas, Arlovski has found success late in his career winning 5 of his last 6 bouts against tough contenders like Collier.
We'd back the veteran at near pick-em odds to get the job done and cash another parlay ticket for us.
Our final best bet this week comes on this amazing Bantamweight main event between Rob Font and Marlon Vera.
We believe this is a very close fight, but Marlon Vera has more pathways to win given that he has elite submissions skills, a great chin to grind in the championship rounds, and knockout power in both limbs.
At an underdog price, we think it is worth taking a stab at the Ecuadorian to get his first main event win this weekend.
