This week is the post-trade deadline week for Major League Baseball and teams are going to be adjusting towards their refined rosters with newly acquired players.

This is crunch time now and at this point in the season there is no room for mistakes to make for all thirty-two teams.

The future is now for many rosters and the window to win it all might be tight. All divisions are settling into races for the top spot as well as wild cards.

The apex of the MLB currently runs through New York with both the Mets and Yankees doing severe damage to the competition in their respective leagues.

Look for offenses to start figuring out how to hit in this latter half of the year and there to be some big moments to define the standings.

Inter-divisional rivalries are another huge storyline that fans will want to keep their eyes on, as the NL West, AL East, and NL East have multiple contenders that can take it all the way.

Analysis

San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres, Tuesday - Aug 9th, 2022

The decade’s biggest World Series contenders, the SF Giants are in a position where they seriously need to turn their season around in order to take a wild card spot in the very stacked NL West.

Although they are considered a roster with a mediocre level of talent this year, the leadership and clutch timing of the SF Giants are always something to be aware of.

After winning one hundred games plus last season, the Giants have taken a nosedive and are hovering around the .500 mark for most of this season.

This match against the Padres could be tough because of the star talent the Padres possess at home so there will be a need for big performances from the pitching staff.

Padres fans know that this team has done well after the trade deadline.

They are a win-now team with two stars in Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. on the offensive side, with a bolstered pitching staff.

San Diego is sitting in a decent position for a wild card spot towards the top of the seeds, but this close to the season must be a good one.

Last season, they fell off after a stellar first half that resulted in them missing out on the playoffs. 2022 will be a franchise defining year for the Padres, will they finally make the turn?

Or are they stuck in the mud for yet another season? Only time will tell.

Philadelphia Phillies @ New York Mets, Friday - Aug.12, 2022

This series and game features two playoff hopefuls in the NL East. Another one of the more stacked divisions in all of baseball, there is a huge emphasis for both teams to win this series and create separation or gain ground on the other.

The New York Mets are the clear favorite to win over the Phillies, but the battle wounded men in red will want to avenge their past losses this season and put in massive effort for this one.

The Mets are loving the addition of Jacob DeGrom back to their major league roster and will also be fired up for a series against the divisional rivals.

Both teams are more than capable of beating each other on the night, but I cannot trust the Phillies without Bryce Harper.

Prediction - New York Mets Money line in the battle of NL East contenders.
