We’re now at the midpoint of the F1 season, and we’ve already seen plenty of drama between the teams and drivers. However, there’s a lot still to play for in the race for the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships. 2025 F1 Schedule & Overview so Far
So far, McLaren-Mercedes has been the standout team, comfortably ahead of their nearest competitors. Ferrari and Mercedes hold 2nd and 3rd place, although only one point separates them right now. Meanwhile, the formerly dominant Red Bull Racing are languishing in 3rd place, as not even the talents of Verstappen can make up for their engineering issues this season.
The Drivers’ Championship is shaping up to be a battle between McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and his teammate, Lando Norris, who currently sit in 1st and 2nd place, respectively.
F1 2025 Race Predictions
July 4-6 - British Grand Prix
Silverstone is a circuit that Lewis Hamilton has dominated over his career, picking up 9 wins, including last season. However, he’s currently 6th favourite to win the race this season, behind even his teammate Charles Leclerc. Meanwhile, Piastri and Norris are joint favourites to win, with Sportsbooks unable to decide on who is more likely. Max Verstappen is an outside chance, but he has won here previously in 2023.
July 25-27 Belgian Grand Prix
Historically, the Belgian Grand Prix has been won the most by Ferrari drivers, though recent years have seen either Mercedes or Red Bull winning here. This season, the most likely winners are likely to be from McLaren, with either Piastri and Norris the most likely to top the podium. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is known for its unpredictable weather, which could impact team strategy on the day.
August 1-3 - Hungarian Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton has the most Hungarian Grand Prix wins, though his most recent win here was in 2020. Last season saw a podium of Piastri, Norris, and Hamilton, although George Russell had the fastest lap. It’s possible we’ll see a similar result this season, although Hamilton is unlikely to make the podium. The twisty nature of the Hungaroring track makes overtaking a challenge, and pit strategy is crucial, so McLaren-Mercedes will have an edge.
August 29-31 - Dutch Grand Prix
Verstappen has 3 Dutch Grand Prix wins over the course of his career, with his last win in 2023. Last season, the race was won by Norris, with Verstappen and Leclerc making up the rest of the podium. The Circuit Zandvoort is one of the shorter circuits on the Formula One calendar, and it's known for its challenging corners, which are the result of natural sand dunes. Piastri finished 4th last season, but he’s expected to improve on that result in 2025.
September 5-7 - Italian Grand Prix
The Italian Grand Prix is held at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza and is the 5th oldest Grand Prix race. The Monza Circuit is well known for its long straights and high speed corners, giving it the nickname of the “Temple of Speed”. Last season, Leclerc won the race, while Piastri and Norris completed the podium in 2nd and 3rd place. We could see yet another battle between these 3 at Monza this September.
September 19-21 - Azerbaijan Grand Prix
The Baku City Circuit will host the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September. The street circuit is the 4th-longest on the F1 calendar, and it’s also one of the fastest street circuits in the world. Last season, Leclerc took pole position but finished behind the winner, Piastri. Meanwhile, Noris fought back from 15th to come 4th. This year, the two McLaren-Mercedes drivers should be out in front, but Leclerc and Russell could pose a challenge.
Who Will Win the Driver's Championship?
Right now, Piastri is the betting favourite to win the 2025 F1 Driver’s Championship. The 24-year-old Australian has never won the Championship before but has 7 Grand Prix wins over 3 seasons, including 5 this season already, and finished 4th overall in 2024.
The second favourite is Piastri’s teammate, Lando Norris. He’s an outside betting option based on the current sports betting odds, but Norris did finish in 2nd place last season. Currently, he has 3 race wins this season and is15 points behind his teammate in the race for the Driver’s Championship.
Meanwhile, last season’s champion, Max Verstappen, is the 3rd favourite to win the Championship in 2025. The defending champion has won an impressive 4 titles in a row, but he’s only won 2 GPs so far this season. He’ll have his work cut out for him this season if he wants to equal Schumacher’s record of 5 successive World Championships.
Who Will Win the Constructors' Championship?
With strong performances from Piastri and Norris, McLaren is the heavy favourite to win the Constructors' Championship in 2025. McLaren is now more than 200 points ahead of Ferarri, their closest rivals. Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull Racing have too many issues to compete seriously. However, it’s still possible to bet on head-to-heads between other Constructors and to bet on the Constructors Championship without McLaren.

However, his best performance of the season was finishing 8th in the Austrian Grand Prix, picking up his first points of 2025. The British Grand Prix delivered a spectacular and historic weekend of racing. Lando Norris secured the win in front of his home crowd but it was our own Nico Hulkenberg who stole the show, taking his first Formula 1 podium after a 15 year wait. Despite racing in challenging weather conditions, Hulkenberg drove with precision and composure which resulted in him becoming the oldest first time podium finisher in over 50 years. This was also the Stake F1 Team’s first top three finish since Japan 2012, reinforcing what perseverance, resilience and passion can achieve. Congratulations to Gabriel, Nico and the team on a their success and achieving a truly historic moment.
