UFC 283 Tips and Predictions
Vamos Rio!!!
The combat sports leader is back to Brazil after a 3-year gap, and we’ve got a stacked card being headlined by former and current home champions.
Some of Brazil's best talent will be on display in front of a packed home crowd and we cannot wait for these fights to play out.
We cashed two best bets last week and missed out on 1 via split decision but this week we're hungry to cash in our parlay, so let's get into it!
Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill
The drama in the Light Heavyweight division which saw Jiri vacate his belt, and Blachowicz & Ankalaev fight to a draw has now given us a great title fight.
UFC veteran, former LHW champion, and Stake Brand ambassador Glover Teixeira will take on rising contender Jamahal Hill to determine the true champion of the 205ers.
Glover Teixeira has aged like fine wine and hit his peak prime into his early 40s.
The Brazilian veteran has beaten some excellent competitors like Jan Blachowicz, Thiago Santos, and Anthony Smith via finish.
His only recent loss has come to former champion Jiri Prochazka in a fight he was dominating until the finishing sequence.
Glover has underrated boxing, great endurance, and some of the best BJJ skills the UFC has ever seen.
The former champion holds the most finishes in the division's history and he'll be pushing for the finish when he smells blood this weekend.
Jamahal Hill has been quietly putting in the work and biding his time which has earned him the spotlight in a PPV main event.
Hill entered the UFC as an undefeated contender but faced adversity in a defeat against Paul Craig.
Although he proved that his comeback was greater than the setback when he knocked out his next three ranked opponents in Jimmy Crute, Johnny Walker, and Thiago Santos.
This is a great clash of styles where Glover holds the superior skillset and experience, but the youth is on Hill's side.
Jamahal Hill will have an advantage on the feet with his crisp boxing and explosiveness.
Best Bets
Our first best bet comes on our ranked main-card Welterweight bout between Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny.
As the odds suggest, Burns is the much better fighter and should get his hands raised this weekend.
With his heavy hands and elite BJJ, we think Durinho will do so inside the distance.
The last time Burns fought in Brazil, he got a round 1 finish so we think the fans will pump him up to get another home finish.
Our next bet comes on our much-anticipated co-main event between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno.
We've got a quadrilogy for the first time in UFC history and both men will come firing out of the gates to prove a point.
Given the knockout power on the champ's side and the fact that Moreno has finished him before, we think there's great value on a finish inside 5 rounds.
Our final pick comes on our main event between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill.
We think Hill has taken a huge step up in competition and the last time he faced someone with elite ground skills, he was handed his first loss.
Glover looks great at 43 and has a far superior skillset so we're backing our man at plus odds. #andNew.
