UFC 295 Tips and Predictions

Dateline Madison Square Garden, New York!!!

Jon Jones dropping last minute due to injury did cause some controversy, but the combat sports leader was quick to recover the card with 2 exciting title fights.

This card provides the ideal dose of violence we need and we’re excited to break these fights down, so let’s dive right in.

Jiri Prochazka vs Alex Pereira

Fight fans were excited when this title fight between two pound-for-pound top 15 and two of the most exciting fighters in the UFC was announced.

Jiri Prochazka sparked the promotion with the impact he has created in 3 UFC fights with his thrilling performances. Prochazka has captured UFC gold, won 4 performance accolades, and a fight of the year award in 3 fights which has made him a superstar.

The former champion is coming off a respectable 13-fight win streak which involves 11 wins via finish in a row. Prochazka is an elite striker with an unorthodox style involving a lot of spinning attacks and unique uppercuts. He has been to a decision once in his 33-fight MMA career which ensures that he does not fight by the hour and pushes for the finish when he smells blood.

Alex “Poatan” Pereira has become an integral part of the UFC by headlining his 3rd PPV and fighting for a 2nd belt in 7 UFC fights.Pereira proved that his top-tier kickboxing skills and power translate ideally into MMA after he realized a UFC title win against veteran, Israel Adesanya.

The former Middleweight champion has gathered an impressive resume in his short stint by defeating 3 world champions in the UFC in his last 4 fights.

Pereira is one of the best technical kickboxers in the UFC with the knockout power to put a stamp on his flashy skillset. This is a crucial fight for the division as we've not had a stable champion since Jon Jones. The Czech native will look to recapture his belt to solidify himself on the throne, whereas Pereira is here to create history by becoming the 10th man in history to hold two belts.

Best Bets

Our first pick this week comes on a Lightweight fight between Matt Frevola and Benoit Saint-Denis.We think Frevola has proved to be chinny in the past and against an upcoming beast like Benoit who has won all his fights via finish, it’s a nightmare.

Next up is our co-main event between Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall.

Pavlovich is very dangerous on the feet, but he has shown a gap in his ground game which is where Aspinall has shown excellence. This is a tricky one to call but we will back the British contender as he can take the fight to the mat and holds more pathways to victory.

Our final pick comes on our main event between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira.

This has been looked at as a fight of the year contender since it was announced, and fight fans have been waiting to witness the clash of these giants. This is an incredibly close fight to call as the odds suggest and we're not confident in picking either side. Although we do believe that both fighters do possess fight IQs that are often overlooked given their fun fighting styles. This is a title fight with high stakes so we are confident that both fighters will realize some patience and we will see a longer fight compared to what is expected of these warriors.
