UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs Shevchenko 2
What’s up fight fans?
We are back with a stacked Fight Night card headlined by an intriguing title fight in the Women's Flyweight division.
After an off week at UFC 293, we are keen to get back to winning ways and break down these fights for you guys. So, let's dive right in.
Alexa Grasso vs Valentina Shevchenko 2
The Nevada fans will be treated to a great main event given that title fights rarely headline Fight Night events and they’ve struck gold this weekend.
Alexa Grasso shocked the world by pulling off one of the bigger upsets in combat sports history.
Grasso not only defeated but finished one of the best fighters in UFC history, Valentina Shevchenko.
She has been on a solid 5 fight win streak since moving up to Flyweight where she's beaten the likes of Valentina Shevchenko, Maycee Barber, and Viviane Araujo.
The champion is a slick boxer with a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu to rely on which has helped her win two out of her last three fights via submission.
Grasso will look to solidify her legacy as a world champion by going 2-0 against the “Bullet”.
Valentina Shevchenko is regarded as one of the best fighters to ever exist regardless of gender.
She has ruled the Flyweight division by asserting her dominance with 7 title defence which is a record that will stand the test of time.
Shevchenko was leading on the scorecards and got caught in a choke by Grasso, so she will take confidence from knowing that she holds the capability of leveling scores with the champion.
This is a crucial fight for the division as it will determine if the division calls for a fresh matchup or a potential trilogy.
Best Bets
Our first bet this week comes on our co-main event in the Welterweight division between Kevin Holland and Jack Della Maddalena.
This is an excellent fight and the people's main event as it showcases two highly touted prospects in a ranked matchup.
Both fighters have been on impressive streaks of their own and hence this is a close fight to call.
We'll take the overs at plus odds given that both men are durable and high-level athletes.
Next up is our main event with the UFC belt on the line in the Women’s Flyweight division.
Shevchenko was winning the first fight before the finish but this is a new fight and Grasso will enter with a newly found confidence.
We believe the first fight was close and Grasso proved to be the better striker.
Fighters often improve significantly after holding the belt so we think with a bit of improvement in takedown defence, Grasso can defend her belt.
