Major League Soccer - New York Red Bulls vs New York City FC - 1x2 New York Red Bulls @ 2.15

  • Nick

Hudson River derby’s latest edition. It’s fair to say the Red Bulls have the wood over their cross town rival, winning their last three contests in all competitions.

A win for either side will see them potentially join Philadelphia Union at top of the table.

Former Celtic man Lewis Morgan has been a revelation for Red Bulls this season, amongst the league top scorers playing on the wing/number 10, and amongst the scorers when these two sides met a just a few weeks ago in the US Open quarter final.

He should feature prominently again.

Serious value for a form home team. 1.5 units

Darts World Matchplay 2022 - Michael Smith Quarter 4 - Winner @ 3.45

  • CBod

Michael Smith 2022 TV ranking events record reads Runner Up (UK Open), Runner Up (World Championships).

In fact, Smith has reached the final of all 7 of the PDC Major Finals.

And Bully Boy’s 2022 away from the cameras has also been impressive, winning the US Darts Masters at Madison Square Garden (another big stage) in June.

This form has seen him rocket to No.3 in the PDC World Rankings meaning a decent draw with seedings.

We know he can go deep into tournaments; it’s getting over the line that has been the issue. 0.75 units

CSGO - IEM Cologne - Mibr vs Movistar Riders Winner: Mibr @ 1.95

  • Alex

While these teams have only faced off once before with Movistar Riders winning 2-0 at Katowice in February, both teams look relatively even in form and skill.

Considering this match is a Bo1 format, the map will be a huge factor. This looks very much like a 50/50 contest. With the overtime promo included, Mibr at 1.95 seems like a good price. 1 unit

Soccer Freaindly - Melbourne Victory Vs. Manchester United - Victory Total Under 0.5 @ 2.43

  • Blake

This match may be a hit and giggle in many respects with Manchester United continuing their world tour as they land in Melbourne.

Following a 4-0 drubbing of Liverpool in Thailand, it's pretty clear that United are keen to impress as they build toward the EPL season.

Despite the fact that we can't expect the sort of stoic defence we'd see in a fixture for points, there's still enough of an incentive for United to hold firm here.

Look at it this way, Melbourne Victory could only put 2 goals away (and both of those came from exquisite finishes) against A-League Champions Western United when fighting for a place in a Grand Final across two ties back in late May.

There's little chance Victory are hard fit given the pre-season break following that loss so even if they do create the odd chance with the potential injection of Nani, it's still hard to see them scoring a goal in this fixture. 1 unit

UFC Fight Night - Ortega vs Rodriguez - Winner Rodriguez 2.41

  • Matt

The main event of this fight night sees Brian Ortega vs. Yair Rodriguez. Brian Ortega comes into this as favourite, but I think this might be a dangerous fight for him.

Ortega is the no.2 ranked featherweight in the division, sitting 15-2 having only lost to Holloway and Volkanovski, and has the most dangerous submission game in the division.

Having said that I think Rodriguez’s stand up and takedown defense could pose problems.

After not having fought for over 2 years, Yair returned against Holloway and put up a very competitive performance, leaving Holloway swollen and bloodied in one of the fights of 2021.

While he lost I thought he was far more impressive than Ortega vs. Holloway. I think his stand ups better than Ortega and if Ortega can't get this to the ground then I think Yair can win this. 1 unit

Soccer Friendlies - Benfica vs Nice - 1x2 Benfica @ 2.10

  • Cesar

The elite friendlies have kicked off with teams warming up for the upcoming season and showcasing new players!

This match here is set to bring attacking football action as Benfica aims at putting on a show at home!

Nice will be looking at continuing their pre season in good form, finishing fifth last year, they’ll be prepared to show their fans they are not slowing down.

However, Benfica here have prepared well and have made a few good promising signings set to prove themselves!

Benfica to win here. 1 unit

Volleyball - Women Nations League - Serbia vs. Brazil Total Points - Under 181.5 @1.85

  • Nathan T

It’s semi final time in the Womens Nations League and we look at the first matchup between the powerhouse Brazilians against an unlikely Serbian team that gutted an inspiring performance in the quarters to eliminate Team USA.

In line with that upset the odds have Brazil as firm favourites and so do I, with the last 3 (2019, ’21 and ’22) Nations League H2H meetings seeing Brazil take out commanding 3-0 wins.

Expect much of the same as I predict the Serbian ladies will unfortunately pay the tax of a grinding 5 set victory over the Americans.

You can get 3.05 about a Brazil 3:0 win but instead, we’re going to play the unders on the points with an increased stake, giving us some wiggle room if Serbia can steal a set!  3 units

Boxing - Ryan Garcia v Javier Fortuna - Winner & Round Range Garcia 7-9 @ 4.90

  • Brad

Boxing was kind to us last weekend with Rey Vargas getting it done over Mark Magsayo via decision much to the delight of followers of this article.

With a lack of high-quality sport events around the world at the moment, we’ll stay in the ring in hope of finding another winner.

Ryan Garcia takes on Javier Fortuna this weekend in Los Angeles in what will be an intriguing lightweight bout.

Garcia has been touted as the next big star of the boxing world for some time and at 23 years of age, is close to hitting those expected heights.

He will face veteran Fortuna in what will be the Dominican’s 44th professional bout.

This is by far Garcia’s toughest test of his fledgling career and a win will firmly put him in the lightweight title picture.

Fortuna is a tough competitor but will struggle to keep up with the pace and power on show from his younger opponent.

We’re backing 'King Ryan' to dominate as the fight goes on and find a finish. 2 units

Bundesliga 2 - St Pauli v Nurnberg - Over 2.75 Asian Total @ 1.81

  • George

German's second-tier league is back this weekend, and has historically been a competition full of goals and leaky defence.

Both teams will be looking to show off their firepower to kick off their campaigns, and would be looking to make a statement for a potential run for promotion into the Bundesliga.

Historical head-to-heads look like this may be a smart selection. In their last four matches against each other, the over 2.5 has hit three times, and both teams have scored at least once in all of those contests.

At the very least you're looking at a 1/2 win with this line, but can see this ending up 2-2 or 3-2. 2.5 units

3rd ODI - England v India - Total Player Performance - Moeen Ali Over 31.5 @ 1.84

  • Dom Rae

This series is tightly poised at 1-1 and we've seen two topsy turvy games so far. India won the first by ten wickets and England took the second game with a comprehensive 100 run victory.

The head to head market is a pick 'em contest but one man who is in great form is Moeen Ali.

He top scored with the bat in two of England's recent T20s against India and also led the charge with a score of 47 in the ODI on Thursday.

Moeen is a top class all rounder and he also fields in catching positions, which makes his performance points line look an attractive betting proposition for game three of this series on Sunday. 1 unit

AFL - North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Richmond Tigers - Asian Handicap - North Melbourne +44.5 @ 1.90

  • Caelum

North are coming off one of, if not their best performance of the season, despite a disappointing seven point loss to Collingwood at the MCG last Saturday.

The Roos were in charge for most of the game, before a late Magpie surge ran them off their feet.

Now, back at Marvel Stadium and with caretaker coach and former hard-nut midfielder Leigh Adams at the helm, there may be some light at the end of the 2022 tunnel for North.

They will face a Richmond side with more than a few concerns.

A shock loss after the siren to Gold Coast last week was compounded by injuries to Ivan Soldo and Tom Lynch.

The Tigers have made a statement at the team selection table, dropping three small forwards.

They do have the luxury of bringing back premiership players such as former skipper Trent Cotchin, Nick Vlastuin and Noah Balta.

What leans me into taking North Melbourne at the handicap however, is the Tigers poor run of form at Marvel Stadium.

They have a 43% all time record at Marvel, also losing their last three at the venue and the last encounter against North at Marvel back in 2019.

Despite the Kangaroos' shortcomings this season, we expect them to back up their good form from last week, which should be bolstered by the return of prized no.1 draft pick. Jason Horne-Francis.

Richmond do have more to play for with top eight spots not guaranteed, but this should be a much closer contest than what the odds suggest. 1 unit

F1 British Grand Prix 2022 - 1st Practice Winner - Leclerc, Charles @ 2.50

  • David

Equipped with a fresh power unit which saw him take grid penalties in Canada, Charles will be eager to put in some laps and try to test out his new car and this should equate to fast times in first Practice.

Worthy to note he’s set the fastest time on 1st Practice 5 out of 9 times so far this year and on the times that he doesn’t, he usually came in second. I think 2.50 might be too long a price here. 3 units

Major League Baseball - Marlins V Phillies - Miami Marlins & Under 6.5 @ 3

  • Matt R

The Marlins will jump out of the water early.

They will keep the Phillies scoreless.

They won't do enough to get the overs this week.

Go Marlins.

This will win. 2.5 units

AFL - Adelaide v Collingwood - Asian Handicap - Collingwood -8.5 @1.87

  • Nathan P

Adelaide is ready to wave the white flag and pack it up for the season.

Meanwhile, Collingwood is the hunt for a top 4 spot and love to play against a road crowd.

Young Nick Daicos has all but wrapped up the Rising Star and is spurring on his teammates.

Moreover, Pies get back key defender Darcy Moore to help stamp out Taylor Walker for the Crows.

Pies get it done and cover. 2 units

CS:GO IEM Cologne 2022 - Movistar Riders VS Team Liquid - Movistar Riders to win 2:1 in a BO3 @ 3.60

  • Ben

Movistar Riders are a dark horse worth backing here, entering IEM Cologne with a rather unknown presence, they've shown up guns blazing so far surprising everyone.

Displaying stunning form and showing no signs of slowing, they face up against Team Liquid, a talented team of players with some recent roster changes.

Movistar Riders have closed out four of the last five matches quite easily so far this tournament, even winning on some of the most difficult maps from highly favoured teams like Cloud9!

Team Liquid are no weak squad, however their performance thus far in the tournament has been hit and miss.

Liquid has recently acquired player 'YEKINDAR' who is solid, but has played less than five professional matches with the core team, this will impact overall team synergy and strategies.

With the Movistar Riders in top form, and with Liquids recent changes, I see the mighty Movistar Riders taking Team Liquid to a third game and then closing out the series in stunning fashion!

Up the Riders! 1.5 units

CSGO - IEM Cologne - MOUZ vs Astralis - Winner MOUZ @ 1.98

  • Alex

Now into the quarter finals, MOUZ look to continue their streak after toppling Nip, Vitality and Heroic.

Astralis have also been in good form despite their loss to Faze, having taken down Cloud9, Furia and Big.

Considering this matchup will be in front of a crowd, it will be a great test for MOUZ with their lack of experience in such environments as compared to Astralis.

The last time these two teams faced off, was back in IEM Winter 2021 with a decisive 2-0 victory for Astralis on Nuke and Ancient. Taking MOUZ to win this. 1 unit
