Analysis - Rafael Nadal versus Casper Ruud

The legend will be having a mental advantage, but not sure how his physical abilities will be on the day. If he is even remotely on form, this should be a sweep for the best clay player of all time.

Casper Ruud is feeling fancy after making his first Grand Slam final, and he gets to face none other than his childhood idol, Rafael Nadal. The Norwegian has made a great start to the 2022 season and making the finals here at RG will give him confidence heading forward to his future years. Currently sitting at number seven in the world, there is no pressure on Ruud whatsoever in this final, which could be a dangerous aspect. If Ruud can find his serve early and neutralize Rafa’s crowd presence, there is a slim chance for a massive upset. There is something special about playing your idol in a Grand Slam final, but Roland Garros looks down on Ruud in this matchup, historically.
