MLB 2022 Weekly Preview - July 25 - 31
The MLB season is coming to the crucial stages of the year and that requires all teams to be hands-on with the last 80+ games.
As we approach the playoff seeding phase, there are many teams looking to do some much-needed work on their positioning and standing.
Pitchers are going to be rested after this all-star break and that means there should be more quality performances coming forward.
The top dogs are confident in their play but slip-ups aren’t permitted at this point in the season and any further damage to the record could be costly.
An interesting storyline to note will be the upcoming trade deadline which figures to be crazy in 2022.
Which teams will be selling their goods and which will be consumers is a huge question for most owners currently.
Will they invest more into making this season something special?
Or will they sell and focus on the future.
This week will be imperative to reflect what decisions front office management may make which makes it all the more interesting!

Analysis
Game 1 - Atlanta Braves @ Philadelphia Phillies - Tuesday, July 26th, 2022
The Atlanta Braves are one of the hottest teams in all of baseball.
After starting the season 10 games below .500 they have picked up the pace entirely and now sit only two games behind the New York Mets in the NL East Division.
The defending World Series champions, the Braves have finally found the balance between pitching and offense.
Production is expected from both sides and has been consistent throughout the past month or so.
Ronald Acuna Jr. and his form is finally here and the potential MVP is back to lead his team to another WS appearance.
Although the Mets could be argued as the more talented team, look out for the Braves to do some damage in the latter half of the season.
Philadelphia fans know this team is most likely not going to be able to compete to the best of their ability after a key injury to star Bryce Harper.
However, the fight they have shown in the past few weeks reflects a character that could carry them far.
The Phillies are a well-rounded team at all positions and possess enough talent to cause some upsets in the NL.
It remains to be seen how constant their production will remain without Bryce, but for now, they are still a dangerous opponent on any given night.
Prediction - Braves Moneyline in a tight battle.
Game 2 - Tampa Bay Rays @ Baltimore Orioles - Thursday, July 28th, 2022
Tampa Bay will look forward after the break with renewed hope as their gameplay in July has been subpar to say the least.
The former WS runner-ups are currently in a big slump losing to teams such as the Reds and Orioles.
Shane Mclachlan and company are going to have to make a big surge in the late stages of the season to guarantee any sort of playoff run.
They have the experience and of course the talent, but this season feels a bit different for the TB Rays.
On the flip side, the Orioles are making things tough for every single team in the MLB. And are just a few games away from overtaking the Rays and the rest of the AL East. The lowest payroll in the league has a chance for the first time in a while.
Prediction - Baltimore Orioles Money line in an upset.
