UFC 282 Tips and Predictions
Dateline Las Vegas!!!!
One last ride, we’ve had a lot of cancellations and last-minute replacements, but this is the final PPV of the year and we’re still pumped for some action.
We’ve got a vacant belt on the line and the return of Paddy “The Baddy” so we’re in for a fun night.
We cashed in on the Stephen Thompson money line last week and we're back this week for more underdog picks, so let's get into it.
Jan Blachowicz vs Magomed Ankalaev
When former champion Jiri Prochazka was out with injury, it was only fitted that ex-champion Jan Blachowicz took on fearsome contender Magomed Ankalaev for the belt.
Jan has been pushing boundaries in his late 30s by taking on the toughest contenders and defeating them.
The Legendary Polish power has run over the likes of Dominick Reyes, Corey Anderson, and Aleksandar Rakic in this run which has seen Jan capture and defend UFC gold.
Jan will hold the experience as he enters his fourth title fight against a man who many believed will hold UFC glory eventually, Magomed Ankalaev.
Ankalaev faced adversity in his UFC debut where he suffered a final second submission loss to Paul Craig in a fight he was winning.
Although he picked up from here to win his next nine fights which have earned him this title shot.
Ankalaev has beaten top names in Nikita Krylov, Thiago Santos, and Anthony Smith in his successful stint.
This will be an intriguing fight where Jan Blachowicz will hold the championship experience, but Ankalaev has momentum on his side.
Best Bets
Our first best bet this week is a two-leg parlay combining two chalky favorites in Raul Rosas Jr & Paddy Pimblett.
18-year-old Raul has UFC title aspirations and his skill set makes him one of the most touted talents.
He is facing a favorable opponent in Jay Perrin who enters this contest losing his last two, so we think Raul should have a successful debut.
For our second leg, we are back on the Paddy "The Baddy" Bandwagon.
This kid has taken the sport by storm, and he is back again to prove that he is not just a hype train.
Gordon has been finished five times in his career and Paddy will give him a lot of problems on the feet & ground given his elite BJJ.
We think Paddy has a good chin, youth, and good ground game and these advantages will help him get past another contender to make it 4-0 in the Octagon.
Our next pick comes on an exciting main-card bout between two undefeated Featherweights, Bryce Mitchell & Ilia Topuria.
Both fighters are highly skilled on the feet and ground which is what makes this fight amazing.
We're not sure who takes this contest but given the skills on both sides, at 2/1 odds we think this one hits the scorecards.
Our final bet comes on the main event between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev.
Jan has had a good title run but we think it's time for Ankalaev to take over.
Ankalaev is superior everywhere, he is a great technical boxer, a good kicker, and has reliable cardio and elite wrestling.
We think he will take his time and dominate Jan Blachowicz across five rounds
