NFL 2022 Weekly Preview: Week 18
Welcome to our last regular season edition of our Weekly Preview.
We hope everyone had a wonderful start to 2023.
Last week, we went 3-1-1 and are looking to build on our momentum for this week.
This week we don’t have a Thursday Night or Monday Night football game, so we changed up our preview for the week.
This week we will have one Saturday NFL game, three Sunday NFL games which will have one selection in each time slot and then the College Football Championship selection on Monday.
With that said, let’s get into the winners for the week!
NFL – Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The AFC South will be determined in the final week of the regular season with the 7-9 Tennessee Titans heading into Jacksonville to take on the 8-8 Jaguars.
Jacksonville comes into this matchup red hot winning their last 4 and playing great football on both sides of the ball.
The Jaguars have allowed a total of 6 points in their last two games combined.
On the contrary, the injury plagued Titans are on a 6-game losing streak and are hoping for a miracle to make the Playoffs.
The Titans signed Joshua Dobbs two weeks ago and decided to make him the starter for this win or go home game.
We can’t see how a guy who was signed literally two weeks ago can lead his team to victory on the road against a very hungry and motivated Jaguars team.
As long as the Jaguars don’t shoot themselves in the foot, Trevor Lawrence and this very potent offense should be able to score at will against this depleted Titans secondary.
While 6.5 points is a lot to lay in a division game which is for all the marbles, we believe that the Jaguars will blowout the Tennessee Titans on Saturday.
Lay the 6.5 points and feel quite confident with Jacksonville not only winning but covering this spread.
Selection: Jacksonville Jaguars -6.5 @ 1.89
NFL - New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins went from one of the best teams in the league to a team that may not make the Playoffs.
Losers of 5 in a row, the Dolphins are down to their third string quarterback in a game that they need to win to have any hope of making the Playoffs.
Luckily for them, they take on the New York Jets who have also lost five in a row and are out of the Playoffs.
The Jets who were once 7-4 and looking like a shoe in for the Playoffs have literally nothing to play for but pride in this game.
Pride can only take an offense so far as the Jets have been downright atrocious on the offensive side of the football.
Scoring 9 points combined in their last 2 games is not a recipe for success and we believe that the Dolphins defence will be able to shut down this Jets offense in Miami.
Though Skylar Thompson will probably start as quarterback over the injured Teddy Bridgewater, we believe that Miami will have a run first approach in this game.
Expect methodical drives down the field for Miami which will tire the Jets defence out late in in the game.
The Jets manhandled the Dolphins earlier this year to a tune of 40-17 and we would be utterly shocked if the Dolphins don’t come out fired up for this game.
The Dolphins need to win and watch the Patriots lose to the Bills and they will be in the Playoffs.
Expect that to happen even with Skylar Thompson starting for this Dolphins squad.
Selection: Miami Dolphins -1.5 @ 1.91
NFL - Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks
Our afternoon selection for the Sunday slate takes us to Seattle where we have the 5-11 Los Angeles Rams taking on the 8-8 Seattle Seahawks.
The Rams have won 1 game on the road this year and we would be shocked if they went into Seattle and pulled off an upset against a Seahawks squad that still has a shot to make the Playoffs.
For the Seahawks to make the Playoffs, they need to win this game and watch the Lions beat the Packers at night.
While Baker Mayfield will be motivated to show the NFL that he deserves to be a starter in the NFL, we believe that the Seahawks will take care of business.
Lumen Field is one of the hardest stadiums to win at due to the crowd noise and the Seahawks have already lost there 4 times this season.
Geno Smith will be composed for this game and should be able to lead his offense to victory.
While the Seahawks have huge problems with stopping the run, we believe that the Seahawks offense will carry them to victory here.
After snapping their 3-game losing streak last week, we expect the Seahawks offense to start off the game fast which will eventually lead to the Rams folding in the 2nd half.
Expect this game to be a double-digit victory for the Seahawks when all is done. Lay the 6 points and feel very confident with the Seahawks on Sunday afternoon.
Selection: Seattle Seahawks -6 @ 1.92
NFL – Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers
Are you ready for some Sunday Night Football?
The 8-8 Detroit Lions head into Lambeau Field to take the on 8-8 Packers that will have Playoff Implications.
If the Seahawks win earlier in the day like we expect, the Lions will be playing for pride here.
If the Seahawks slip up and the Rams win, the Lions will be playing for a Playoff berth. For the Packers, a win here will put them in Playoffs after being 4-8.
Both teams are red hot with the Lions winning 4 out of their last 5 and the Packers winning 4 in a row.
The problem for the Lions is that the Packers are almost nearly unbeatable in Lambeau Field with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback in January.
Throw in the fact that the Lions have already beaten the Packers this year 15-9 in Detroit, we would be shocked if the Packers came this far just to blow it at the end.
Fading dome teams in January playing outside in the elements is something we love to do.
Goff and the Lions will play tough but will make a couple crucial mistakes that eventually cost them the game.
Expect Aaron Rodgers to be very cool and collective in this game as he knows what is at stake here.
Lay the 4.5 points with Green Bay and expect them to easily win on Sunday Night in Lambeau Field against a good Lions squad that will be better next year.
Selection: Green Bay Packers -4.5 @ 1.88
College Football - TCU Horned Frogs @ Georgia Bulldogs
Welcome to the College Football Championship.
The TCU Horned Frogs take on the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs in which should be an absolute blowout. Last week, the Michigan Wolverines did everything they could to lose that game against the Horned Frogs.
Unfortunately for TCU, Georgia will not shoot themselves in the foot like the Wolverines did.
Georgia was in an absolute dogfight last week against Ohio State and they showed their championship pedigree rallying from 14 down twice to win the game.
We believe that Georgia will overpower the TCU small defensive line and they should have no problem running the ball throughout the game.
Expect Georgia’s defence to get a ton of pressure on Max Dugan and cause multiple turnovers.
This game will not even be close. We believe Georgia has played at least 3 teams this year that are better than TCU.
While everyone loves a Cinderella story, this game will be a battle between boys and men.
Expect Georgia to repeat as champions and expect an absolute blowout here.
Lay the 12.5 points and don’t be surprised if Georgia is covering the spread by mid-way through the first quarter.
We are expecting a five to six touchdown differential in this game.
Selection: Georgia Bulldogs -12.5 @ 1.90
We hope everyone has a very happy and safe New Year.
This week our multi pays 24:1 and we would love to start 2023 with a huge win.
We are very confident in our plays so we highly recommend jumping on this multi with us.
Best of luck and enjoy this wonderful week of football!
