NFL 2022 Weekly Preview: Wild Card Weekend
Welcome to our Wild Card weekend preview!
Isn’t it crazy how fast time flies?
The regular season is officially over and the playoffs are ready to begin.
For the Playoffs, we will be giving our predictions on every game.
This week we have a six pack of winners for you.
So sit back, relax and enjoy these six wild card games!
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers
Wild card weekend starts off with the Seattle Seahawks heading into the Bay Area to take on the surging San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers have won 10 straight and head into the Postseason with a ton of confidence despite starting “Mr. Irrelevant” Brock Purdy as their quarterback.
The Seahawks needed an overtime win and a Packers loss last week to squeak into the Playoffs and are probably ecstatic that they have another game to play.
Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they have to face a San Francisco squad that has already beaten them twice this year.
The problem with the Seahawks is that they can’t stop the run and we expect Christian McCaffrey to have a huge game on the ground against them.
The Seahawks have given up over 160 rushing yards both times they played the 49ers this year and we would be shocked if the 49ers do anything different this time around.
As long as Brock Purdy doesn’t make any rookie mistakes in his first Playoff start, the 49ers should easily be able to win this game and cover the spread.
These teams hate each other and we expect the 49ers to keep the pedal to the metal throughout the game.
Lay the 9.5 points and expect a double digit victory against a Seahawks team who probably shouldn’t even be in the Playoffs.
Selection: San Francisco 49ers -9.5 @ 1.87
NFL - Los Angeles Chargers @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Saturday Night takes us to Jacksonville where the Los Angeles Chargers take on the red hot Jaguars in what should be a very close matchup.
The Jaguars have rallied off five straight wins and are coming off a huge win against the Tennessee Titans to win the AFC South.
While the Jaguars looked horrible on offense all game, their defence played lights out and carried them to victory with a fumble return for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
The Chargers come into this game hot themselves winning four of their last five games.
While both of these teams are hot, none of them have the experience at quarterback for the Playoffs.
Both Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence will be making their Playoff debuts on Saturday Night.
While we believe this game is a complete coin flip, we will take the quarterback with big game experience on his resume.
Trevor Lawrence won a National Championship in college at Clemson and we believe that he has the winning fortitude to show up big in key moments.
Justin Herbert hasn’t proven anything in clutch situations in his career and could not beat the Raiders last year to make the Playoffs in Week 17.
While both of these teams will make crucial mistakes down the stretch, we will tip our cap to the Jaguars to prevail in close fashion.
While the moneyline is enticing, we believe taking the +2.5 points as a cushion is the smart thing to do there.
This game should come down to the wire and having points is always nice to have in a close game!
Selection: Jacksonville Jaguars +2.5 @ 1.95
NFL - Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have redemption on their mind after what transpired in Kansas City last year.
The first opponent on their way to the Super Bowl are the banged up Dolphins.
With Tua Tagavailoa out for the game, the Dolphins will turn to Skylar Thompson as their quarterback for this huge game.
Skylar, a rookie quarterback, will be making his second career start.
While Teddy Bridgewater may be able to give it a go during the game, we don’t trust either of these quarterbacks in the Playoffs.
While the Dolphins have split the regular season against the Bills, the Playoffs are completely different.
Expect Josh Allen to have a field day against the Dolphins defence and also expect the Bills defence to cause a few turnovers.
This game will not be close at all. Warm weather teams heading into the cold in January is a recipe for disaster.
The Dolphins are lucky they are even in the Playoffs and will get blown out in Buffalo.
Don’t get cute here, lay the 13 points and expect the Bills to be covering by the end of the first quarter.
This will definitely be one sided affair on Sunday morning.
Selection: Buffalo Bills -13 @ 1.90
NFL – New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings
We get to witness the biggest frauds in the NFL host a Playoff game this Sunday afternoon.
The 13-4 Minnesota Vikings host the 9-7-1 New York Giants in what should be a very entertaining game.
The Vikings are definitely not as good as their record but luckily will face possibly the worst team in the Playoffs in the New York Giants.
A few weeks ago, the Vikings hosted the Giants and were a 4.5-point favourite.
They won at the end of regulation with a walk off 61-yard field goal.
Now, they play again and are only laying 3 points.
While we believe the Giants will pull the upset here, we recommend taking the 3 points as a security blanket.
All the games the Vikings play and win are very close.
Three points is key here and if the Vikings do win this game we would be shocked if they cover the spread.
The Giants should be able to build on what worked against the Vikings last time.
Kirk Cousins is 1-3 in the Playoffs and we expect him to have an “off” day against this Giants defence.
While it’s hard to back Daniel Jones, we believe the Giants will be fired up for their first Playoff game since 2017.
Take the Giants and expect a close game that will definitely come down to the wire.
We have said it all year that the Vikings are the most overrated and biggest frauds of the NFL.
Fade them here and if they magically do cover the spread, double up next weekend against whoever they play.
Selection: New York Giants +3 @ 1.95
College Football - Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday Night takes us to Cincinnati where the red hot Bengals take on the injured Ravens.
While we were hoping for a good game here, news just broke that Lamar Jackson will not be playing.
Therefore, the Ravens will either turn to Tyler Huntley or Anthony Brown.
We can’t back any of these two quarterbacks on the road in the Playoffs and we expect the Bengals defence to dominate this game.
Joe Burrow has redemption on his mind after losing in the Super Bowl last year and we believe that he will come out fired up.
The Bengals are a covering machine and should definitely be able to cover a 9.5 point spread against these backup quarterbacks.
While these teams just played last week, don’t be too concerned about the final outcome.
The Bengals took their foot off the gas in the second half and we don’t expect that to happen again.
We would be absolutely shocked if the Ravens keep this close with their quarterback situation.
Take the Bengals and expect them to be covering the spread by halftime.
Selection: Cincinnati Bengals -9.5 @ 1.90
NFL – Dallas Cowboys @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Fading Tom Brady in the Playoffs is one of the worst decisions a person can make.
Year after year, Tom Brady proves that he still has enough in the tank to perform at the highest level.
Unfortunately for Tom, the Buccaneers and him are not clicking.
Two weeks ago, Brady rallied his troops down from a 21-10 deficit in the fourth quarter to win the NFC South.
While many believe that will start a Playoff rally for the Buccaneers, we believe this team is a complete fraud and will get manhandled against a Dallas Cowboys squad that everyone is counting out.
The Buccaneers have beaten only two Playoff teams the whole season.
They blew out the Cowboys in Week #1 and beat the Seahawks in Germany.
While Dak Prescott hasn’t looked as sharp as he should since he returned from injury, we believe the Dallas offense will do enough to win this game.
All eyes will be on Tom Brady on this Monday Night Playoff game.
It’s been a tough six months for him and we expect his Super Bowl aspirations to crumble on Monday Night.
Take the better, hungrier and younger team and expect the Cowboys to win in Tampa on Monday Night.
Selection: Dallas Cowboys -2.5 @ 1.81
We hope you enjoyed our preview on Wild Card weekend.
This week, our multi pays a whopping 46/1 and we are quite confident that we can hit it.
We already hit one Multi earlier this season and would love to hit one more for the Playoffs.
Best of luck and enjoy these wonderful games this weekend!
