UFC Fight Night: Dawson v Green
What's up Fight fans? We are back with another Fight Night card after an off week.
We nearly cashed in our parlay on the last one getting 2/3 right and only getting the method wrong.
This week is another classic card that should fulfill our violence needs, so let's dive right in!
Grant Dawson vs Bobby Green
We’ve got another great matchup in the UFC’s marquee division headlining this weekend.
Grant Dawson has quietly put on a 10-fight unbeaten run in the UFC which has led to his first main-event spot.
Dawson is a pressure fighter who relies on his chain wrestling to drown his opponents.
He has beaten some top contenders like Damir Ismagulov, Mark Madsen, and Jared Gordon.
Dawson has accumulated 6 finishes inside the UFC banner which has made him a dark horse in this stacked division.
This weekend he will take on a real test in UFC veteran, Bobby Green. Green has fought the who's who in the UFC like Dustin Poirier, Islam Makhachev, Edson Barboza, etc.
The 46-fight MMA veteran has beaten some elite competition in the likes of Tony Ferguson, Clay Guida, and Lando Vannata.
Green is primarily a boxer with good defense and footwork which will help him find success against Dawson.
Best Bets
Our first bet this week comes on a Welterweight bout between Alex Morono and Joaquin Buckley.
This is a fun fight and should stay on the feet for most of the bout. Alex Morono has more volume and better striking accuracy which is a key in a striking battle, so we'll take him at plus odds.
Next up is our co-main event between hard-hitting Middleweights, Joe Pyfer and Abdul Razak Alhassan.
Alhassan is a traditional brawler who is a miss if he doesn't knock you out in the first 2 minutes.
We think Pyfer is the far superior fighter and should get his hands raised. We’ll take a stab at Joe Pyfer to win by either submission or points at near 4/1 given that he has good wrestling and Alhassan has a good chin to rely on.
Our final pick comes in our main event with ranking implications between Grant Dawson and Bobby Green.
We think this is a one-sided affair as Dawson will get takedowns on Green who does not have the best takedown defense.
Dawson has good BJJ so we think he will control Green on the ground and eventually get a late finish.
